Thought it might be interesting to collate some of the information from the ConZults we done at JAE it shows some particular similar issues and an increase over last year with thermostats failing in the open position, some of the missing info was due in part to not having pens and paper that work well in the rain!

Damit wish I'd got mine done! :) Quite interesting reading though, mostly timing out and thermostats!

Its amazing how many zeds have the TPS set incorrectly and low base idle.

I can vouch that the cheap Det sensors from ebay do not work. I fitted one on my new engine and still had a code 34, Jeff placed in the resistor and code now gone.

Wow, for about 10 seconds there I actually felt proud of my Zed. But only for 10 seconds!

Very kind of you to give everyone a conzult Jeff - you should learn to relax a little, you just can't stop working even at JAE!!

I'm guessing a few peeps will have a little more to do over the next couple of weekends, good luck guys (and girls) - hope you manage to sort thos things. Bad luck Vods, your's is the only one that seems a major ball ache, hope you get it sorted bud - I know that car has been a labour of love already. STick at it!

+2, both Jeff and Jamie are top blokes, always a pleasure to have a chat and a catch up, thanks again for the ConZult lads, I am sure everyone appreciated it.

Nice one Jeff, seems to be a lot of timing retardation and incorrect Tps settings. Any particular reason for this? What effect would these have on running and are they an easy fix?

Perhaps in hindsight I should of got mine done but with the engine coming out for my mods within weeks I thought I would not bother you Jeff/Jamie, you did have enough to do I noticed.

Lot of base idles too low, is this 600 - 700rpm as opposed to 725 - 850rpm?

mine wasn't that bad to be honest, when i did the timing i did ring jeff to see if the gearbox problem would have an effect.

When jeff redid it, there seemed to be extra marks and no one was sure where the correct mark was, but the lads got there in the end.

Always a pleasure meeting jeff and jamie and having a chin wag.

i know the reason my base idle was low, its because i didn't change it lol.

Or the fuse........:tt2::tt2:

Lots of timings out.

And lots of det sensor failures (no suprise there), 6 I counted...running around in Safety mode, severely down on performance.

Top marks to Zedworld again, we really do have a great club :gunsmilie:

Thanks Mr .J. dam pleasent chap and his very brave co worker grabbing hold of the fan to stop it on a car that he does not know

In one way it was a good thing the ebay buy was not working as I overheated

going up on friday had to be a gentle drive but it was better going home think I had an airlock going to bypass the the det sensor

Timing well need to try harder next time one thing that I was concerned about was a noise from the engine but relieved to hear its only lifters

which is strange as I have changed them [but they came from ebay with nissan branding] so will strip and find out why [i hate that ticking ]
