We went to Silverstone on Saturday and had a great day. Pete came and helped me tinker with the car as needed and he even had a session as passenger in the afternoon :) The car ran really well with just a couple of teething problems which were sorted on the day. I was running with standard road tyres and didn't bother putting the toyo 888 on as I wasn't looking to push at 100% this time around and anyway they are pretty crap in the wet lol. Here's a link to my very first session of the day and I will upload a couple of wet laps a bit later :)

Power is 584 rwhp but that's with NOS and I think was 511 rwhp without. Didn't use the NOS as was running road tyres which last time I ran pilot sport at the track the tread was ripped from the carcass.

The Silverstone Wing is fantastic and the facilities now match the track itself.

I was really pleased with the car and it handled fantastically well. It was a good day and it was good to see a zed keeping up with the porches and what was surprising was in the bends it was as good and better than the anything out there. Who was it said the zed wasn't good in the wet lol

was amazed at this vid, until ive read what you'd done to the car in your journals. .... WOW!!!

looks pretty quick out there compared to everything else.

No its not pretty quick.......................................................

Its VERY quick.

It is also driven by a very quick and committed driver.

The car will sit on the tail of most Porche GT3 RSs. all day long.

All the more remarkable when you consider that Bobs car was conceived as a fast road car with track capabilities not as a dedicated track day car..

Round the pits and on normal roads the car is very docile and well mannered.

Shoot it down the exit to pit lane and on to a track it has the same mild even stance. There is no drama and no fear sitting alongside Bob.

like the look of the new "Silverstone wing" very impressive.

The new facilities are very smart indeed. Bob hires a "pit garage" for the day so i am able to bring the Estate car and tools etc inside and near the car.

That means we can tweak and check between bursts out on track in the dry just like the F1 teams.:thumbup1:

Couple that with all day availability of hot food and drinks PLUS the company of Bobs charming lady partner and you can see what a fun day this is.

The icing on the cake at these track days is the interest and complements that the car attracts from other track day drivers.

As Bob has already mentioned we just need to get rid of a couple of minor gremlins before we get the Toyo 888s AND the NOS added on.

Roll on the next one.

I agree. Slicktops definitely do rule :cool2:

I will probably do the July 15th track day again at silverstone and same track which if anyone's interested is a fairly easy track to learn and not too tough on the car. As well unlike Goldtrack days which have a lot of exotic and race orientated cars the silverstone own ones were a great mix from GT3 RS to Ford Ka :) and with a total of seven hours possible track time a bit of a bargain I think. The other point to note is that there were only two red flags during the day which were one crash and one the weather. The more race orientated sessions tend to have a lot more red flags due to drivers pushing a lot harder.

As the car performed well we'll be upping the boost a bit so should be seeing another 50 - 100 rwhp. Also as the clutch was starting to slip will be looking at changing that to a HKS triple plate.

So hoping for a dry day next time and will be wearing some T888 which should be fun :)
