Bloody neighbours kid has just rode his bike into the front of my car :cursing:

he had those stupid stunt pegs on the back that jammed into the intercooler vent at the front & scratched all the paintwork!

I only saw him do it as I was up a tree on a ladder in my garden cutting it back - saw him bounce off it.

We have a parking courtyard out the back & the kids are just constantly riding around - the mum said she keeps telling them not to get close to the cars - FFS, do a bit more than just telling them if you keep having to warn them!

To be fair the dad has said he will pay for it but just get them down the park!! There is a purpose built one for the kids on our estate about 30 seconds away!!

Rant over - back to the bodyshop LOL!

yep i can relate watched a kid who lives near me could not have been older than seven creeping up the garden to my zed with a footie in hand he was i pressume going to bounce it off the car to hear the alarm beep, i waited until he was ready to chuck it and said to my alsatian john is here (a mate) she went in to bark mode instantly and charged to the door bouncing of it in the process, he dropped the ball and ran!!! sorry had to share that ....but hope he pays up and its sorted soon bud

I think I'd have shot him!

In all honesty Paul, I thought it was gonna be one of those '..and now I'm gonna have to pay to fix it' stories. Fair play to the father for offering to sort it out - he'll possibly take it out of the little uns pocket money, so that'll be him not getting anything before Xmas!

Still a shame it happened though mate

The parents have been very good & came round again with the boy to apologise. The real point is though if I hadnt have seen it then I would be out of pocket! How many other times has it happened with other peoples cars?!

Like I said - just take them down the park! Thats what its there for!

Oh well - will stand guard next time :gunsmilie:

I remember about 10 years ago, some little s**t knocked my wing mirror off on purpose! I saw him do it through the window so I ran downstairs (struggling with my trousers lol) and grabbed him. (not roughly at all). I knew that he lived around the corner so took him round there and his mother just gave me a mouthful! I couldnt believe it. She said it must have been an accident. I told her that I had actually seen him purposely literally punch it off my car but she wouldnt have it and slammed the door in my face!! Not worth the hassle in the end but goes to show what some people are like.

Hope you get it sorted bud :)

I've had the opposite happen to me though, was 16, riding my bike to my first GCSE exam, I was on the pavement, which I shouldn't have been granted, but it was a busy road and I didn't want to get run over.

As I went across the driveway of a medical center, about 800 yards from the school gates, a district nurse who was too busy waving at a friend to look for pedestrians on the foot path, let alone cyclists, drove straight into me without even looking.

I wasn't travelling fast before anyone says it either, I could have been a five year old walking along that path, or an old person coming out of the medical center she even worked in for crying out loud! All the police did, was threaten to sue me for riding on the pavement, because she was a friend of the sergeant who came to see me afterwards. Since when do sergeants go to see people to take a statement? That's plod duty aint it?

I thought the same thing Paul....

......at least his dad did the decent thing - there are so many thug-like parents nowadays who think their kids are little angels and would have a go at you for even daring to suggest their offspring could do such a thing.

It's good to see someone honest and decent; willing to face up to their responsibilities.

I hope you get it sorted with minimum fuss mate.

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:
