On your desk there is this thing called a keyboard, in your skull SHOULD be a thing called a brain, please engage your brain before operating the keyboard. You will know when you are successful once you can post with out offending people.

If you have to think too hard and smoke starts appearing, please take a nice calming walk outside to let your cell cool off.

Seriously, this forum is full of helpful and friendly people, please try not to upset the balance. you might need help your self, I'm sure if the first reply you got was sarcastic with a tone of egotism about it, you wouldn't be very happy.

ooh, you might want to get your shift and 1 key looked at, it seems to have a problem where its constantly doing this "!!!!!!"

Agreed, hell of a first post!

This is a community of members that help each other out, I think your

post was a bit over the top there, as hell raiser says not everyone is that

mechanically minded and as a fellow zedder I myself had many questions

in my first posts that seem idiotic now and simplistic but they were answered

by other members regardless.

Just a thought !

Tank, if you popping over to mine tomorrow i will look at it for you.

To start with, jack the the front of the car up. take off rad cap and bleed valve, start engine and turn on heater to full pelt. when the engine gets up to temp, and shows in the middle of the standard temp gauge, make sure the heaters are blowing full hot all the time, if anytime it goes cold, that is air passing throught the system. a6t the the same time keep topping up the rad, a bit at a time and watching the bleed valve.

when it is all water and the temp is constant. Turn off and and replace valve and cap. let it cool. then check.

easy when done a few times.

And also you do not fill the expansion tank on the right hand side, its not an expansion tank, its an overflow tank for coolant to be dumped by the rad, then drawn back as it requires, im sure you didnt mean to come across as sarcastic, but please remember there are enthusiasts who know these cars well and then there are zed lovers who might not know much about the workings but love driving it.

Welcome to the club by the way :whistling:

i do appear to have unitensionally upset alot of folk !! i did not intend to offend anyone, but it seems my poor attempt at humour has backfired somewhat!! i have given my wrists a good slap, and i will stand in the corner facing the wall untill mr moderator says i can go..

for the coolant top-up:

1. Make sure the car is parked in such a way that the front is higher than the back of the car. This will force any air bubbles to come to the front & top of the radiator and escape through the bleed screw hole.

2. Remove the bleed screw and radiator cap - ignition off. Top up coolant through the radiator cap hole until you can see water.

3. Make sure you've got approximately 600ml of coolant in the expansion tank.

4. With the bleed screw and rad cap OFF turn the engine on and set the heating system to maximum temp (40C & A/C off). You can put the fan on max as well but this is less important.

5. Over the next 5 or so minutes the coolant level will drop and you'll also see air bubbles appear. Once the coolant starts to overflow from the rad cap hole you are safe to put the bleed screw and rad cap back on.

6. Job done! Check level again every other day for the next few days to make sure the level isn't dropping.

All the best,

if your joking about things, then excessive use of the smileys, is always a good way of getting across that its supposed to be humorous.

doesn't come across as very friendly matey.

anyway welcome to the club. we are a friendly bunch on here, don't take too much very seriously, unless its to do with our cars dying. seem to have a strange fascination with mankini's :innocent: and know that our cars are faster than the speed of light and will defend that claim with chains whips and a pack of flesh eating chiwawas

Right, you can leave the corner now.

Funny. Maybe not, but it has character!. also simple, informative and instructive with safety in mind. Brilliant...... Ok so people imagined a 'tone' that came with it but thats just guessing. Everyones a critic, aye!

Fair and to the point imo.
