Can't sleep and still thinking about Zeds'.

My mind is going a hundred miles an hour about my Slicky. It is actually keeping me awake. Do I sell it, get the manual conversion done (have all parts including gearbox, brand new clutch/flywheel/rad) etc, or have a 60/120 service carried out. Or go mad and have the conversion and full service along with one piece prop and lightened pulley? I'm not a wealthy man so this is a huge decision for me. I have spent an awful lot(to me) in the year I've owned the car and I'm at a bit of a crossroads.

All well considered thoughts are most welcome when you wake/read this :sleeping:

You know the car, and have spent a lot on it, no point getting another IMO.

She's a great looker.

Give her the service and enjoy the summer with the car, if you already have the manual swap parts, see if you can save for the prop over the summer and do the conversion and prop as your winter project ...

As above.

Only reason you should sell is if you dont want a 300zx anymore.

Service it, drive it for the summer, do the manual conversion later, not the winter, coz its a pain in the arse taking the enigine out your zed in the snow, and having to push it in the snow, sliding around in the snow! (Thats what i did!).

Do it End of september or March!

Then see how you feel about it, if you still want to sell, do it this time next year. Petrol prices will be £2 a litre by then..

NEVER sell a car if your not sure, I've done it and its to late when you start regreting it.

service it, tahtw ay your future proofing it. you can drive it serivced with a auto box what you cant do it drive it with a manual box and a fubared engine because you opted to manual first

convert it if you can mate, have you driven a manual zed? I had my first zed converted from auto to manual and I honestly couldnt believe it was the same car! It seemed to handle so much better, go so much better and sound so much better.

Best of all, if your auto gearbox is working you can sell it (I did and got £300 or so for it which offset the cost of conversion)

sell it? :slap:

convert it to manual and you will have the ultimate Z and nothing could replace it.

Dont sell Daffy lad, get it serviced 1st, then conversion and prop later in the year, dont rush it, take your time and there nowt wrong with autos, but it will make you smile when the conversions done!! good things come to those who wait :winkiss:

Keep it Dave, she's a stunner, as you said, you have spent loads in your first year of ownership but she looks great for it, so take your time, enjoy the summer, then do the conversion later when you've saved up a few pennies to get the work done... or save a fair few quid and try it yourself.... I'll give you a hand mate.

Don't you dare sell that car mate!!!.....lol

If you have got the dosh and can afford it, get the whole lot that you want done, if you get it all done now, you wont be tempted to dip into the money for other things.

That's a beaut of a car you have Daffy, I think you would regret selling it. Once everything is done, it will feel such a different car that you will think you sold it and got something even better, but would still own a 300ZX Slicky, a rare beast to find in the condition yours is in......:tt1:

Just my thoughts to you mate, you and only you can really decide what to do, but I do think you would regret selling it buddy........:crying:

To be honest your car is one of the main ones I'm drawn to look at when I'm on the site, so I say convert it, service it, smile!

I'm in agreement with Daz.....

.....you have a damn fine car there Dave. If you want a manual, sure you could sell yours and buy another, but end up with a bag of spanners.

If your's is sound (and you've just had that fantastic paint job done) then keep it. Get it converted to manual when funds allow.

Richard:cool2:

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:
