April 19, 201114 yr Hi guys. Just been to see a uk zed and it has a jubilee clip over a plastic bag on the end of a pipe next to master cylinder blanking it off.Whats that all about? Cheers!
April 19, 201114 yr Was the pipe sticking out of the firewall? If so then it's the clutch booster and the car has been converted to manual and he's just blanked it off. That's assuming it's a manual of course :)

April 19, 201114 yr Does sound like it then. It's a pretty crappy way to blank the plug off but the clutch will still work, it'll just be a lot heavier.

April 19, 201114 yr Thankyou :thumbup1: So any one got a pic of how it should be? Apparently not lol. I asked last week for photos and didn't get any. I'm just connecting the balance bar to the booster with a one way valve and a little expansion tank in-between them. Then it's just a case of fitting it all in somewhere.
April 19, 201114 yr its called a "bodge" lol Could be a dodgy PCV bypass or some other vacumn blocked off. Pretty shoddy method though. If it is the booster vacumn, then most likely the Booster has a leak and its been blocked off at the plenum/balance bar end. No reason to just block it off if doing a Manual conversion if the booster is working. Apparently not lol. I asked last week for photos and didn't get any. No need for the expansion tank. Just go direct from balance bar to booster with the standard one way valve and pipes. Providing you have the Manual balance bar then you wont need any further parts. Very quick and simple to connect. Thats usual practice for a manual conversion. If you only have auto balance bar, then you can T-off the Brake booster pipe from the plenum instead. Seperate feeds is preferable though. Edited April 19, 201114 yr by Yowser

I was a little worried that I'd only get vac assist when the tubs were boosting, hence the expansion tank idea. If you say it's not needed then that's good enough for me.
