Gents

i have fitted R33 gtr disks and still using the old calipers, i have refurbed the calipers, changed the brake fluid, bled through thoroughly, done the seals in the master cylinder,

at first i thought the brakes were warpped so i had them skimmed but when i brake now its like there braking on wooden blocks if you get what i mean, there deffinetly not safe at all there mintex pads i think oem spec from mjp

one other thing i have noticed is when braking slowly is the pads stick to only part of the disk kind of on off on off braking strange,

any suggestions anyone

i was thinking of going back to standard disks and decent pads, any recomendations guys

So does the pedal go straight to the floor?

Also can you pump it up to build pressure and then it feels hard and will release after awhile?

NOPE brake pedal is fine feels hard wont go to the floor just feels like your stamping on a block of wood but no bite at all

Any servo??:confused1:

you got it matey i found a leak on the clutch booster and it tee's into the bake servo i have been loosing vacum in the brake cylinder :surrender:

how can u be using gtr discs on original calipers when standard discs are 280mm and gtrs are 324mm

just curious as im fitting brembos to mine tomoz

well whats the point in that you still only got the same amount touching the disc as the pads in the stock calipers are standard so whats the point in a bigger disc when you cant get anymore contact to it,

and im guessing this bracket lifts the caliper away from the hub to fit the bigger disc, wont this cause leverage and make it worse?

as i said just curiour and keen to learn

No deffo makes things better mate, this has been done time and time again and numerous kits sold on ebay similar with various sizes of discs.

It's been discussed a 100 times here, do a wee search.

If your using brembo calipers then it's N/A for you obviously

larger rolling diameter rolling disc means larger breaking surface while your right that would be optimised by a caliper that covers the full width. its something i plan to do myself. where can i get those adapter plates from though???

Depends on what discs your going to use as they are slightly different to suit the offsett of varying discs.

Danny DTA though now closed down does have a few items of stock lying around, he used to sell the adapters for the GTR33/34 sized disc so strong chance he'll have some.

Note though there is a difference in adapters between the 350Z and GTR sized discs despite them being the exact same size disc.
