Just a hypothetical Question really if i was to do a project from scratch on one of these cars surely an import would be a much better starting block than a uk car? with their weather climate and all, the cars seem? to be in much better bodywork condition than the uk cars which have had to take the full brunt of our terrible weather for twenty years when i bought mine i was shocked at well no rust at all on it.

Depends how long the jap has been in the country. Judge any car on its individual merits.

As said, ofcourse judge every car individually, and the amount of time spent in the UK is the key point.

But it is true that a recent import literally looks like new underneath, whereas a UK car is typically riddled with disease.

Plus all the best types of Z's are imports ;) :p

import aslong as its 97/98 onward

iv got a 93 not registerd till 95 but its starting to show rust in the rear arches and underneath

If I was doing a project car, which I am, it would have to be a shortie;

Therefore, JDM rulez :tt2:

yur car looks good but whats the point in having a car that looks the same as the others but cant carry people

I have enough of carrying people in my 7 seater - the Z is just for me:devil2:

to be fair the back seats in a lwb base are only good for the targa roofs or kids! there pretty point less really les your snow white and know 7 dwarfs haha

Lighter, faster, better handling - the reasons performance cars exist. A SWB and especially a slicktop is a different car to drive than a 2+2.

Looks are subjective ofcourse, but many also buy becuase they prefer the look of the exterior and interior of a SWB. The SWB also has a bigger boot.

If you need to carry very small people in the back then get a LWB, if you dont then get a SWB.
