glue the spoiler on with sikaflex , its propa bodwork stuff and the best you can get . tap it up on ebay and it can be bought in black or white !

I was thinking more on the surgical type gloves rather than the woolly variety !

that's what i was using, then half way though had to take them off, as they where getting stuck to everything. basically i put a bead of Tiger seal on all the surfaces that were going to be in contact with the tail gate. then on the edge that will get the most wind, i put more seal on and then smoothed the edge to make it more aerodynamic. it was during the smoothing processes to get it flush (so no hard edge for the wind to grab) that the gloves then got covered. but a little trick when using your finger. take a cup of washing up liquid mixed with water with you. you dip your finger in the washing up liquid and then smooth the sealant. the liquid stops it sticking to your finger.

The tiger seal looks almost like the stuff used to hold the rear lights together with. very strong as well. just make sure there is no where for the wind to grab under the spoiler as soon as that happens, believe me that spoiler will leave the car.

Then clamp it down at the edges and wait for it to set.

tiger seal is good stuff also , vodkashots is right in what he says about the washing up liquid if it works , i normaly use thinners . same principil i suppose
