Rather than hi-jack the deadzed thread, I thought it might be interesting to see the cars everyone had leading up to their zed. I know this has probably been done before, but still..

 

I'll start, mine are in order, apart from cars in NZ because I've lived there twice - Aug 2005 - Mar 2006 and Nov 2007 - Feb 2010

 

Ford Orion 1.6 Ghia - 17

Ford Capri 2.8i V6 - 18 - 21 (Although off the road several times)

BMW 325iSE - 18 (Bought while the capri was off the road)

Jaguar XJS 5.3 V12 - 19 (Had overheating problem, also had steering problem, it saw a petrol station and turned left! So it went elsewhere.)

Toyota Mk III Supra 3.0 Turbo Auto - 19 (Eventually died slowly, power steering went, idle control went, gearbox on way out etc, but was lovelly car.)

Nissan Skyline R32 GTR - 20 (ADORED this car, died because of the RB26DETT common oil pump failure)

BMW 525iSE - 21 (Bought to keep me on the road after the GTR, before we went to NZ)

BMW 525i S - 24 (Had this while I was back in the uk during 2007, before going back to NZ again)

Yeah, wasn't great. The original steering wheel was horrible, huge and thin. No servo for the brakes....

right heres a short list that will probally cause a ribbing.

citreon 2cv6:

first car found it in the garaghe at home got it running and drove it about for 6mnths before it was brought off me and exported to france,. this is where i discovered i liked getting oily.

suzuki vitara:

used it as an absolute transport slag, used to have upto 5 bmx's hanging out the back, drove through the forset and crashed it into things alot. sold it for about 300 quid it was that battered.

ford capri 1.6 cameo:

this became a 2.0 litre s with a 130 bhop pinto that made more noise than it had muscle. who cares it was cool. it used loads of feul didnt idle for crap. did backfire and pop on over run and did make a truly awesome sound.

z32 lwb auto:

there we are present day, zed definatly the best car ive owned even with the grannie box

i took one of thoose for a spin once scareys deckchair on wheels ive ever driven, brakes consited of a toffee you threw out the window attached to some string

well exactly the same year, colour model etc

 

more filler then a bodyshop, worked on the fecking engine every week, last straw was when the cam driven fuel pump plunger gauged the cam and i had to file it flat to get it to run again! sold it the week after!
