I'm putting the new K-Sport rotors and 8 pots on next week and just wondered what brake fluid people use? I'm also changing the the gearbox oil the same time I put the short shifter in, Is there any particular gearbox oil that people recommend or is the oem stuff fine?

I chose to use Dot 4 due to the whole Dot 5 and 5.1 confusion. I think the US call 5, 5.1 or something like that which doesn't help online as so much info is US based. Then consider that Dot 5.1, isn't compatible with Dot 3 and Dot 4....

Ok, so 5.1 has a higher boiling point but as I don't plan to do 100mph from starting the engine to parking up I didn't really see the need.

Just didn't seem worth it to me, plus its more expensive...

mines probally filled with cat puiss judging by the other nasties ive found over the last 18 months

im putting dot 4 in at weekend as i to never plan to cook the brakes, ive heard dot 5.1 gives you a better pedal feel also but i flushed it through my Skyline "both of them" and it never felt any different..

No point running 5.1 for road use! I've got braided lines tho :)
