Car was sitting for a while so i left the battery on trickle charge, 6 days ago i took the battery out of storage and put it back on fast charge and once fully charged, put it on the car, went out to it after 2 days and it was dead to the point i had lights on the dash, but my gauges (they do a volt check when you turn the key) were saying just 8 volts, so not enough to crank the engine. sure enough when trying to start the car, not enough juice to start her. so i changed the battery for the one on my breaker, and again after 2 days, the battery was showing 8volts so didn't have enough guts to get her cranking.

Never had this problem before, any idea what it could be? i havent changed anything dramatic that i can think off, that would cause a power drain and everything is off.

Just to say, that the battery charges normally with the alternator, so i know its not that, and its done it to two different batteries, one i know is definitely good as its been on my other car with out draining.

maybe the battery has been too flat and needs a deep charge. had this a while ago left the window open and teh alrum drained the battery charged it up and drove to my gfs where it promptly went flat again stuck it ion charge for three days on my father in laws deep charge etc charger and never had a problem since. most places will check your battery for free worth a check.

wont be that bud, its happened to two batterys both when on the zed, when on the other car they stay fully charged

ok i know you said the alternator is working fine but best to check to take it away 100% get it up and running and test the voltage. when fully charged and when running should be a littl;e higher cant rember the spefic numbers tho. 13.1 seems to stick in my head for running? i just put the multimeter across the terminals but i dont think tahts teh "correct" way

not sure your following me, it drains with out using the car. with the car running it charges the battery properly, my gauges do a volt check and if you knock them, they go back to the voltage, when the car is running the alt is producing 14volts or there abouts.

put both batteries on my other car and they hold the charge, turn the car off and leave it for 2 days and the battery drains if i don't disconnect it.

ah, ok well something is definatly on. check all your switches something silly like the electric seat buttons. maybe or an led internal light draining?

i thought it might be my Separate tft screen as that stays kinda lit on the on button, but its just 1 LED so can see it being that, unless it leaves the screen in standby mode so is powered on, yet the screen lit.

Disconnect the screen fully and see if it still drains after two days !

you didnt read the whole thread did you hehe.

already said its not connected matey :)

I had a mysterious power drain in mine which I only found by luck when the map reading lights weren't working - took the headlining off to find the wires were bare and shorting out against the roof slightly but not enough to blow the fuse. Worth checking for anything not working in case you've got a similar problem with the feed to anything?

Map reading light is fine, had that apart to sort out wiring for my alarm. grrr. going to unplug the tft screen and see if thats having an effect.

no worries mate took it as light hearted lol, just a thought but have you got HID's, is possible one has fused and causing the drain.
