As above has anyone done this with minimal fuss?

I have a plate that i believe may be worth something not talking mega money...but the firms i've rang want the full cars details and the majority a fee for valuation and obviously to sell, i realise i will need to pay for services rendered etc but want the cheapest option for initial outlay and as much money back. (don’t we all?)

Any help appreciated

Usually best way is to get the plate on retention. It's all fairly straightforward and a couple of seconds on google will take you here

Once you have the plate on retention it's much easier to sell and you have a year before you have to extend it. As far as a valuation is concerned why not just look at ebay etc and see similar plates for a guide. Again let us know the number and you may get some offers here :)

Thanks for the info on retention there...and lol the plate would only be of interest to someone called stuart i guess as it ends in STU prob worth more than the car lol but would like to confirm and if its worth selling i will get shut!

Just make sure you sell the plate before the mot/tax runs out before its due to be scrapped. Otherwise you have to pay retention fee to own the plate itself without it being on a car (I think)

Well i do intend to replace the plate with another one from its year so from what has been said and what i've read, i can keep this on retention and just renew if needed each year?
