We are hitting £129.9 a litre in some areas now and soon we will be faced with paying £1.50 per litre. So Philip Hollsworth offered this good idea:

This makes MUCH MORE SENSE than the 'don't buy petrol on a certain day campaign' that was going around last April or May! The oil companies just laughed at that because they knew we wouldn't continue to hurt ourselves by refusing to buy petrol. It was more of an inconvenience to us than it was a problem for them. BUT, whoever thought of this idea, has come up with a plan that can really work.

Please read it and join in!

Now that the oil companies and the OPEC nations have conditioned us to think that the cost of a litre is CHEAP, we need to take aggressive action to teach them that BUYERS - not sellers control the market place. With the price of petrol going up more each day, we consumers need to take action. The only way we are going to see the price of petrol come down is if we hit someone in the pocket by not purchasing their petrol! And we can do that WITHOUT hurting ourselves. Here's the idea:

For the rest of this year DON'T purchase ANY petrol from the two biggest oil companies (which now are one) i.e. ESSO and BP.

If they are not selling any petrol, they will be inclined to reduce their prices. If they reduce their prices, the other companies will have to follow suit. But to have an impact we need to reach literally millions of Esso and BP petrol buyers. It's really simple to do!!

Now, don't wimp out on me at this point... keep reading and I'll explain how simple it is to reach millions of people!!

I am sending this note to a lot of people. If all of you send it to at least ten more (30 x 10 = 300)....and those 300 send it to at least ten more (300 x 10 = 3,000) ... and so on. By the time the message reaches the sixth generation of people, we will have reached over THREE MILLION consumers! If those three million get excited and pass this on to ten friends each, then 30 million people will have been contacted! If it goes one level further, you guessed it.....

THREE HUNDRED MILLION PEOPLE!!!

Again, all YOU have to do is send this to 10 people. That's all (and not buy at ESSO/BP). How long would all that take? If each of us sends this email out to ten more people within one day of receipt, all 300 MILLION people could conceivably be contacted within the next 8 days!!! Acting together we can make a difference. If this makes sense to you, please pass this message on.

PLEASE HOLD OUT UNTIL THEY LOWER THEIR PRICES It's easy to make this happen. Just forward this email, and buy your petrol at Shell,Asda,Tesco, Sainsburys, Morrisons, Jet etc. i.e. Boycott BP and Esso

it was tried with the poll tax and to a certain extent created its point by a back down by the gov..mind due people sufferd by getting jail and losing there goods to bailifs at the time

Yeah, but others getting away scott free, one of my mates dad didn't pay a penny of the poll tax, and in the end he got a letter to say forget it, we have changed the system. So while some got jail, some got bailiffs, others got away, again so unfair.

true mate..petrol like a few other things including bitumen is a by-product of the bigger picture...I run a flat roofing company and atm 40kg of bitumen is £42 plus VAT and thats buying it by the tonn..3 years ago it was £18:mad2: and that includes all felts too

So with the fuel rises, the VAT rise, the price of the bitumen going up, you have to adjust your prices accordingly, so then nobody can afford to have their roof done or repaired because they have to pay all the things mentioned, so everyone finds it hard to manage. Bloody MP's mate.....

Sigh - not another one.......:pinch:

Veccy and Znut have really made a good point on this one, I reckon.

Richard:yes:

Cheers sir, that's nice of you to say.........:thumbup1:

I have an idea....99% of this planets problems are caused by money. Most crime is committed to get money. Most things that cannot happen, cannot happen due to money. Vested interests are caused by money etc etc etc ....so....lets do away with money! How mankind (who thinks he is so bloody intelligent) has got himself into this greedy money makes the world go round and can't live without it situation, i'll never know!

Intelligent? Tw*ts!

money whilst the route of all evil is a manifestation of power, money is power thus making power the route of evil. money is just a tool or face upon it. he only way to solve this problem is to take action and with this goverment mere protest peacefull violent or otherwise doesnt work, just look at the student issues just weeks ago. the goverment run the country your opinion is not required. so the only way to change this goverments veiw and cause a change is to stop them achiving their power. hurt their wallets.

Remember....any government in a country like ours is an elected dictatorship!

Also remember that though the decisions this government are tough and will be hated by most of us, we should also see the reason behind this is the 12 years or so of total misrule from the other lot!

Any society who will close schools and hospitals through "lack of money" is stupid.

Any society who will refuse treatment to ill people due to "lack of funding" is stupid.

Any society who will go on about human rights and minimum wages, then exploits those societies without such luxuries in the name of profit is immoral, two faced and deserves no success of their own.

I'm no communist, far from it, but there is too much money in too few hands. A more even spread of wealth is required if we must stick to money as the only media for making things happen...but remember for every single thing that money supposedly makes happen, there will be several more things that will not happen.....because of money......

All polititions are as bad as each other, making promises before an election and then not sticking to them. Honestly, it's no wonder that the voting public don't know who to vote for.

I really don't think there is much to choose from between any of the political party's they are all in it for personal gain, which is why so many MP's are being hauled up for fiddeling there expenses........
