Im not, rearwheel drive in a hilly place equals frustrated front wheel drivers stuck behind me if i take it out.haha! But twice this week I was driving along around 30-40mph when both occasions a car pulled out of their driveway in front of me making lock up and sh*t myself thinking im gonna rear end them, and then making me crawl along behind them at a ridiculous slow speed, and when theres slush in the middle of the lanes its a bit hairy trying to overtake! At least wait till the car coming passes you before you pull out and crawl with your white knuckles and rigid hunch over the steeringwheel.I really think new drivers should be put on a skid pan to learn driving in snow and ice.In Norway etc they drive on snow same as us in the rain,no big deal to them cos theyre so used to it!

(o.k rant over!..Im just p*ssed off with this snow cos my new massive plasma telly is taking forever to be delivered! lol)

my toyota hi-lux is not that great in the white stuff either, plenty groundclearance, but abit light on the rear makes her spin the tyres in 2wd.We got the snow really early this year ,after lastyear aswell, people will probably start buying winter tyres in anticipation for next winter and itll prob be our warmest yet!lol, sods law:)

Mines tucked away at work, using a luxury bottom of the range T reg Mercedes A Class auto at the moment LOL! :wheelchair:

No!

Mine's not a daily drive anyway. But since I have to go up a long steep hill whatever way I want to get home, if the roads are snowed over then most cars without 4 wheel drive are buggered!! Last winter the hills surrounding Missenden and Pretwood were strewn with abandoned cars that couldn't get up them......

ZX and SLK stay at home in the snow and I just go out in Julia's Rav-4. Better safe than sorry.

Richard:biggrin:

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Yes! although Leamington hardly had any snow. was nice to hear that someone before me had it undersealed, which i didnt know!

Managed to go out in mine today for the first time in 10 days...I know 10 days won't seem a long time to some of you, but to me if I am not driving it every day I start to get cravings.

Had to take a round trip down to Aylesbury, crisp cold morning getting lots of dense air into the engine...fanatastic trip and like having an extra turbo! God I have missed it!

Sorry, got a bit carried away there...to answer the original question...no I don't take the Zed out in the snow.

it only snowed for one day here we got about 6 inches over night i melted and turned to 1 thick sheet ice. teh zed was throughly hidden away. even the van stuggled on teh sheet ice had to get pulled offa slight slope by a 4x4

My Zed hasn't moved for 2 weeks and 3 days, I started it up yesterday and fired up perfectly, let it idle until it hit peak temperature then shut it off.

I bought myself an old Primera last week to run about in to keep the Zed off the road until at least March, because while the snow has gone for now the roads are still covered in deadly rock salt, and besides theres forcast to be more snow on the way later next week.

The shed is a 97 P 2.0 GX, 109k, tax August, mot July, full service history, lady owned for 12 years, recent exhaust and downpipe, new clutch, new brakes, spot on condition inside and out apart from a light patch of rust on the f/n/s arch, cost me 500 quid!

Now I know we all like piccies here, so heres a pic I took of it a couple of days ago complete with my snow covered Zed in the background :thumbup1:

We had three days of snow on the roads, and have to confess that I resorted the the Range Rover to get to work and back.

As soon as the snow melted I went back to the Z, though I have been very cautious owing to the amount of Ice and hard frosts in the morning (I'm on the road around half six and the roads have not been gritted). Have had two partial sppins now on the icy roads and fortunately did not hit anything (or anybody!).

The Z is pretty damn skittish in this weather and as I have only recently bought her I've yet to experience driving pleasuably on dry roads with the Sun shining and the panels out!!

Ahh, so you have still to get the whole outer body experience then ?

Indeed but looking forward to it immensely

Its a no from me, got it out of the garage yesterday, drove off the drive on to the icy snowy close and got stuck. All the roads in Hull are fine now but our close is still covered, gutted.

Mine has been off the driveway 6 times in the last two weeks, 4 times to clear the driveway to bring in new furniture we bought, once to go get some fuel and give it a run after the snow had melted and this morning to take my 5 year old to school :D.

REALLY missed it when the snow was out, but just couldn't risk it, even pulling it off the driveway onto the sheet of ice that was our road was scary.
