Need opinions guys. My girlfriend has asked me what i want for christmas.

My choice has been narrowed down to either an 89 spec spoiler or a 99 spec, from Dave Car Mad. Need to remove the high level one i have.

But am faced with the dilema.

If i go for the 89, i will need to source the light.

If i go for the 99, i will then be wanting a 99 front.

But in the future, the zed is going low and smooth. want to keep it looking as sleek as possible. Regardless Carmad will be getting the business.

99 spec mate. I don't really think you need to change the front bumper neither, Funkysi had a 99spec spoiler and kept the 89 spec front and it looked great.

In fact I plan on putting a 99spec spoiler on and I will be keeping the 89 spec front.

99spec for sure.

 

The 89 is too square and very dated for my tastes, plus it breaks up the Z's sleek lines by hiding the natural curves of the tailgate.

 

I would go for the 99spec front too, both help tranform its dated looks to something much more modern and sleek.

Go 89 spec so there are less 99 specs out there!! :D

for any one interested we will soon be makeing a custom fron lip that bolts to the underside of a 99 spec bumper, to give it a lower more aggressive look :yes:

That's a toughy.....

 

......I do like the 99-spec rear spoiler and I have thought about geting one many a time!!

 

However I also like the original spoiler as it's more subtle. If it were my car, and looking at Gary's black one, I reckon I'd stick with the old '89 version.

same boat, but ive goty noithing on there atm and its a long wheel base it just looks plain wrong. i purchased a perspex strip to cover the recess in the tail gate last year, and not being cheop i wanna keep it but the 99 spec looks good fro some angels and rubbish from others, but the 89 would mean getting rid of that persex strip.

looking at your car i would be tempted to go 89 spec it just looks more purposeful and less add on than the 99 spec IMHO ...i like the 99 spec better on white cars though funnily enough !

I had the same problem

in the end after a lot of tooing and froing went for the 89

only reasons were ive gone smooth all round and think the 89 is a more of a subtle look.plus from behind think the 99 looks a to short at the sides

as mentioned before the 99 looked really nice on the white of funky si's

89 spec, the 99 spec looks like its not wide enough and does not flow like the 89 spec IMO

If you're going low and smooth then the 89 spec is your best bet. i think it's also the best spoiler for the Z by miles. I would have a 99 spec as a second choice though above the other after market ones.

spoilerless... And use up the money for a 99 front! ;)

89spec for me, as previously stated, the 99spec looks more like you stole it from a ford and just bolted it on, as it doesn't quite reach the ends of the car. 89 spec looks more like it belongs, which it does. and also you cant beat the side profile with a 89spec that a 99spec just doesn't give.
