yep dont forget to take in account tax. You can go all the way through checkout to get three different shipping quotes before payment.

Not quite sure why, there's only 1 way and that's to devalue the goods and even possibly declare it a gift and what ever value they lower it to, you still are taxed on that.

The biggest problem is of course damaged goods or even worse missing in transit, which can happen. Any claim you have is against the shipping company and not the supplier and you can only claim the value that is recorded on the customs slip, so you could lose out big time.

Other than that, like any international shipper, the import tax and vat is no concern of the shipper and nor can they alter the amount you pay unless by doing the above.

As a guide, always allow a total of 21% of the sale price including shipping as well. If you get away with less, then it's a bonus.

I've only once ever been hit with import duty and have imported loads of stuff from overseas

Yes they do apparently, still waiting on the o rings I ordered for my na calipurs I threw away last year (yes I have contacted them multiple times) cba was only £15

on my last car the wheels i bought from the usa cost £150 extra in tax...

The shipping price options to the UK are all shown in the shopping cart when you go through the order.

whereas I ordered a lot from the States (z1, czp, courtestyparts and others) for Z stuff over the past few years, and I have only not been hit by duty & vat once!

Smithy makes a very good point....if you have the items declared at a lower value, and its get lost or broken en route (and that does happen) then your screwed.

i imported a load of stuff for my bike as it washalf the price in the states for the parts i wanted. tax was pretty reasonable tbh and it turned up pretty swift aswel

ive ordered a couple of things from them in the past and their service has been fine, albeit when it came to a partial refund it did take 2 or 3 emails to get the money back into my account, but nothing off-putting!
