Just thought i'd post a couple of pics of the interim install on my Slicktop. I will update the amp and sub at a later date as and when funds permit. The amp is running the sub and also the Hertz co axials up-front. I also have JL components in the rear Bose boxes. The amp cover and false floor are still to be carpeted, and i'll probably cover the sub as well, most likely in acoustic cloth.

When i do upgrade i shall build a box (maybe 2) out of 18mm MDF that'll be scribed to fit in the corners taking a 10" sub. This will do for now though and if the spare is needed its a case of unscrewing the two wires from the sub then just lifting that out along with the two sections of false floor. Simples!

The false floor has to be cut into two sections as the SWB boots are wider at the bottom than the top! I shall probably add a layer of memory foam underneath too.

Massive Thanks to Steve (cybernet) who donated the amp/sub during his garage clearance whilst moving house. Cheers fella :thumbup1:

I know mate, it's simples really. Sometimes it's just too obvious a solution!! If you're handy with a jigsaw you will be able to do it. Now all I need is Craig to see how simple it is and that's 2 jobs I've done myself out of!!! I should be able to pop over Sunday chap.

Cool, see you Sunday then bud. :thumbup1:

No problem fella :thumbup1:

Your a legend fella let me know how much and ill paypal you some cash over if you like, let me know.

LEGEND:yes::yes:

x2 - i reckon you've done a great job there mate, looks great.

x 3, i have done my own build to replace the rear seats...but if the one you produce for the LWB is to the standard of yours i will be most likely be throwing some money your way Daffy, its a very tastey build you have there and Music is definatly a priority!!

Cheers Hollings. I have made a start on the custom boxes now. Don't know how to link another thread though! It's not the best but when carpeted should look okay. I'm going to go with a 8" sub in both corners. Should sound nice, does now but not the best looking set up.

They look excellent but are you doing any for the LWB? or do they fit the LWB also. Even in the building stages the also look very trim and precise. do you think you would be able to fit a 12" sub in there?

Cheers mate. If you are at Andy's at the weekend and not having a lads night in watching Shane Ward clips on youtube whilst listening to his latest album I could pop over and have a look/see what you're after. Doesn't sound like it'd be a problem.

Hi mate, unfortunately i'm not going round to Andys tomorrow as he needs to work on his car and get them lights sorted.

Didn't want you turning up thinking that I'll be there - of course if you were already going down there then no problemo.

How are these going Daffy? love to see the progress pics, ive put all my standard seats back in for the retro look instead of having ICE in the rear seat position because these sub boxes are the best ive seen for The LWB zed so far :D

Thanks for the interest mate. As it happens, i've just had (thanks to securicar) my new amp and subs delivered. Now I know the optimum size of the enclosures my subs will work with, I can get on with it.

The thing is my work has gone manic! But if I get a chance I shall get them done as soon as, even if they don't get carpeted. Can't wait to hear how it sounds :punk:

Now I have the templates it won't take long to do, but as it stands my next day off is Christmas!!

Amp is a Vibe, Slick A4. And the two subs are JBL GTO804. Hoping for a nice balanced sound with a bit of weight behind it.

Here are the patterns I made for the sub enclosures

Should equate to 13litres if my sums are correct!?

Can't wait to see the finished article, just let me know if you need any cash sending fella

i would really like to know if the boot trim which that box fits into is the same as the LWB, it looks to be, and if so can you fit a 12" sub in there daffy :D?

SWB has a deeper boot so wont fit the same. With some angles and jiggerypokery you can fit 12's in the LWB

Gah, aint that bas i suppose. How much are you selling these sub boxes for anyway Daffy? if any at all?

Hi,

Why not take the OEM rear speaker fronts/tops off and carry this design around so it's one piece guys?

SubEnclosure009.jpg

That way you have eye pleasing consistency and a more OEM kinda look. Instead of the original speakers still being visible - incorporate, incorporate.

Just a thought!
