Just remembered my mot was due soon,checked and its a couple of days its up. I'm offto work tomorrow so I popped into the garage today to ask to get me in, been asked to take it back about 2. I'm fairly confident it will pass tho to be honest. On my way to collect my 99 front bumper from the spray shop now.

It failed the MOT folks, pritty pissed to say the least.

 

Ok we have rear and front fog light failure as the **** couldnt find the button.

 

my front plate was too small, but i had asked him to make a genuine size up before mot which wasnt done.

 

rear reg lamp bulb was flickering, possibly a loose wire somewhere.

 

Nearside anti roll bar securing bracket insecure, apparently the bolt was just alittle loose.

 

offside front rose mount joint had more play than other side.

 

The big one is......offside rear sill, small piece of corrosion.

Overall nothing major, i instantly thought a huge panic with regards to the sill but the freaking thing is solid other than this tiny part., had been filled smoothed and sprayed as when prodding it was some fibreglass that came out,

 

The emissions was slightly high on the first and second fast idle test.

 

Not the worst i think. But im offto work tomorrow so the car needs to wait 2 weeks until it can even be looked at.

 

 

just really didnt need this now.lol. Cant be bothered with mot failure etc etc so had thought about selling up but im going to get her sorted out and see how the feelings are then. Maybe take the long trip to zedworld and have her a 'spa'week.lol.

.....but I thought I'd point out that front fogs are not part of the MOT (even if they are fitted) so shouldn't have been tested!

the emissions should be almost immposible to fail on a car of your age mate, not unless there was a big running issue, i.e. missing, overfuelling by loads etc.. anything pre 94 is simple to pass, after 94 is a pain!,

Nope, the garage never said it would take 2 weeks. Craig's away back to work today for a fortnight, so it'll need to wait till he gets home.

 

I always thought that the emissions thresholds changed in 1992 when the pre-cat / cat converter laws changed?

Yeah I'm heading offshore for 2weeks so the car is parked up and now not budging for 4weeks.

I'm calm about it all now.lol
