Time for a project update !!

Took a brave pill today and decided to cut a whopping big hole in my dash.

With good reason of course as I wanted to fit my new guages, new as in never been

used but i've actually had them for over 5 months now along with the dash mount

holder to put them all in.

Following a cutout template i masked off the area that need to be cut and took out my

trusty craft knife {more like a surgical knife} and cut the top layer of dash away; Then

you have to scrape all the foam off untill your left with the last bit which is just another

thin layer of plastic. Dremel in hand i slowly cut round the template again making a hell

of a mess in the process.

I quick test fit then i took the hoover out and sucked up all the shrapnel that was just

created by the dremel - messy stuff

Last pic shows the template removed and dash hoovered up a bit.

After i do some guage tests and wire up a power point / switch i'll get some clamps

and make them a perminant fixture.

Wired up the senders to my guages today then trial fitted them to see if everything worked.

So far Oil Temp, Volt, Water Temp work in the bottom din socket.

I've got Oil Presure, Air Fuel, Boost in the top dash mount slots but so far only the boost

guage works, i've run the cable for the oil but the sender for it is still on my NA so soon as

theres some good weather i'll try swap them over.

Lastly is the air fuel guage which needs to be wired into the ecu, i'm likely going to put a

switch in to turn the whole lot off and a switch to swap between left and right side readings

on the airfuel guage.

Still need to properly glue the top guage mount down but gonna leave that untill i know that

i can get the other top guages workin just incase.

Heres a nice shot of what they look like at night followed by one with the flash on.
