Hi Gary

As soon as you remove the bolts I'd say that if there's a seal between the two pieces of the rim, it will be broken.

But if the two pieces are the just the centre piece and the outer rim where the tyre is mounted, then I'd reckon it's possible......

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

It all depends whether they are 2 peice or 3 peice wheels. Even if they are 3 peice wheels, sometimes the inner and outer rims are welded together.

I want to clean up my split rims and want to know if I can take out all the bolts to split the rim with the tyre on or does the tyre need to come of ?

I did this about a year back to a set of 18" Volk Racing CV-Pro 3 piece split rims.

When I did it I deflated the tyres, released all of the bolts equal and opposite, then broke the wheel down into it's 3 components ready for primer and paint.

Then to re-assemble, I reversed the process.

The tyres remained on the rims throughout
