hardy ever about cars anymore, just piss about for an hour waiting for pre planned jokes to happen. if im honest i much prefer 5th gear and have done for a while.

Dont even bother watching it now. Its just a poor, scripted entertainment show with cars as a side theme.

Its a shame really..

James May is 24ct Gold, but Jezza and 'Ive sold my soul to Morrisons' Hammond are painful to watch. That motorhome could have easily caused a fatal pile up.. I just dont know how, in a modern age of health and safety, they can get away with it. I'm not one to cheer the health and safety corner, but christ, if it was any more top-heavy it would have botox injections and a son called Harvey..

I'm in agreement - 5th Gear is far superior, manages to get in some laughs but actually has something to say about cars..

Still end up watchin top gear tho, every now and then there is a moment of brilliance, but today was too similar to the original caravanning episode which was far superior and more original..

Shame

I still love it. It's not really a car show, it's more an entertainment show based around cars. Pre planned or not it still makes for great viewing.

Can't agree more.

I've not bothered watching it for the last two series either.

Now I know I'm going to sound like an old fart here, but I used to watch it back in the Eighties when it was a proper Motoring Journal program not an expensively made comical entertainment show aimed at people with £20,000 spare change in their back pocket!

no matter how silly it is, im still going to end up watching it. perfect for a sunday evening. and its worth it for those moments of brilliance.

it was funny as **** last night! and at last cornwall is on the map! going to organise meets so we can go round visiting the topgear sights!!

dan.:cool3:

I really enjoyed the lastest one, it is more entertainment show with cars than a serious car program.

Depends on what your expectations are....

If you want a serious informative car show then you will be disappointed

If you take it for what it is...Entertainment with a motoring theme then it's brilliant

Clarkson is a knob!

I just want to see some stuff about cool cars, fast laps and a bit of humour.... I hate the fact that it is sooooo scripted now.

If you search on google you can watch all the old episodes, which i did the other day and it really is such a huge distance from what it used to be, they were giving pricing advice, buying advice etc. I quite like the big challenges they do (ie drive across country/forest etc) but i just find Clarkson such a twit that it annoys me now.

Shame really, but i will still watch it as i refuse to relinquish the tv remote any more than i have to, cos if i didn't watch Top Gear i would be forced to watch Peter Andre - the next chapter or something similarly shite.

I just think people see this show as something different to what it is. People thik "Top Gear, car show"

It's entertainment with a car theme. the guys have great chemistry and i'd give my left foot to be part of the team.

its just getting too predictable in the script writing these days..if they have a barby you know its going to catch fire or anything on water you know it will sink and the last one with the 3 cars on the edge of the cliff..need i say anymore:rolleyes:

TBH felt fairly meh about the last series, am only half watching this one - think the format is very tired now, they need to change it or bin it. And for the love of god, what is going on with all of their hair?!

I watched it on Sunday and agree not as many cars featured as we would like, but there can only show the cars as fast as the manufactures bring them out, I love it and watch it every weekend and the repeats on Dave lol.

i watch both 5th gear and top gear, i enjoy both, top gear is just funny as hell, the robin one was absoloutly hillarious. plus he did give some facts and history on the robin!! lol

but as already said, top gear for laughs and 5th gear for serious car talk!

Still very funny, and still enjoy watching Clarkson and May, but Hammond is getting on my tits lately. He's just far too Cheesy and his "acting" is so fake and obvious.

He was never as bad as that before, its like he is playing a Cartoonised version of himself.

Agree with the above. I've never really found Hammond all that amusing. But he's a good target for May and Clarkson, I think that's about his only saving grace and all it ever has been.

Clarkson's escapades in the Reliant Robin a few weeks ago had me laughing uncontrollably. Not laughed like that in a good few years!

Me too I was actually killing myself laughing the second time round as well

LOVE THE PROGRAMME

Long may it continue

i'm in agreement with peter on this and the above comments sum it up nicely imo.

as for the health and safety aspect, i'm sure it would have all been staged within a police escort in a controlled environment like a majority of the scenarios they stage.
