Hello folks!

As some of you knows, I want to buy a Z

I had one before but I can't tell anything about it as I had it for a very short time.

My Q is, which one will be better for me, n/a or TT?

I need a car that is reliable and reasonably cheap in maintenance as I'm 20yrs old and my sallary is around 1200/1400 per month.

I'm saving around 6oo/65o/7oo quid every month.

Don't talk about insurance as I know it's mega expensive that's why It will be insured for my parent,

How much do you spend for your Z every month ? [stock car, without mods]

Sorry for my English guys, It's not perfect but I hope you understand what I mean, thanks

Thanks / I will have some more questions :P

--------

I'm not sure if it's in correct section. If its in wrong section then pls move its. Sorry.

i would start of with an n/a. bomb proof and a bit better on fuel than the tt.

insurance will be about the same as a tt due to them all being imports

I'm 21, 2 years no claims, insured with flux direct (adrian flux) for £1188 a year on a TT, only trouble is they'll only insure if you have alarm and keep it in a garage lol. Got a quote off go compare.

I've spent about £4000 in 8 years on maintenance and general up keep, that includes 2 sets of tyres at £900. Obviously if its standard 16" wheels it will be cheaper.

In general these are not cheap cars to run, unless you can find good 2nd hand stuff.

Thanks guys.

Well... I was thinking about n/a... TT is better thats for sure but at the moment I think n/a will be enough.

I know they are not cheap to run but... I love them :)

And I will check the adrian flux, I'll give him a call on Monday.

If you're saving £700 a month, then maintaining a Z32 should be a walk in the park. Even a TT. Your fuel bill may cripple you though! LOL Just make sure you buy the best you possibly can as there are many many poor examples around that can cost you thousands upon thousand to put right.

im 21, currently with elephant/admiral same company and i am paying 650 fully comp per year. thats with 4 years no claims.

Hmm... thats fair price.

Last year elephant quoted me for over 2k well... That's why Iwant insure my new car for my parent... I'll call adrian flux on monday and maybe do online quote with other insurers... Maybe this year will be cheaper LOL

Thanks, will let you know how much they will charge me.

Anyway it will be insured for my dad but I will check t anyway.

:)

As Si says, buy the best one you can afford, one with know history at least, if its had the big service recently, cambelt + aux belts, water pump, thermostat, water hoses replaced, bushes replaced, exterior trim that perishes. You will save alot in the long run.

Cheers, will start searching in FOR SALE section here, then ebay. But I think I'll find something in good nick & price here. [next month]

hi mate had a Z since im 21 had my z since i was 20 though, i was insured with admiral too,

dont get a N/a as they wont insure them... have to be 21 for an import

i got a TT cat 1 alarm, keep on a drive, was 1500 fully comp (baring in mind i have had a few incidents in the past...had a car wrote off, and a zed stolen , )

but as for reliability they can be very reliable if you get a good well maintained one, and you look after it.

as for monthly costs, up till a few eeks ago my TT auto hadn't had a penny spent on it, was costing my including insurance maybe £220 a month

good luck with your search mate. all I can do is echo what is said above really. spend some time and a little extra money getting the right Z from the start so hopefully you won't be stung with nasty surprises down the line (not to say that won't happen of course) but it sounds like you're being realistic and putting money aside for it. Naturally the N/A will be cheaper to insure and will have less things to go wrong with it. If any insurer quotes you more because you've gone for an import, tell them to stick it and try elsewhere.

Thanks for the reply mate.

Hope to find the right Z, I'll start searching in next month. Will start from n/a... well... but who knows, If I'll find the right TT I will take it of course. Thanks again
