People who buy Ferraris (those who can afford to!)QUOTE]

Not picking holes but these days you don't need to be on a Premiership footballers wage to buy a Ferrari (You can pick a Ferrari up on PISTONHEADS for south of £11k; not a particularly nice one granted, but a Ferrari none the less)

I do however believe that you need to be on a Premiership footballers wage to comfortably run and maintain a Ferrari

You are absolutely right though, it's a purchase of the heart and if you feel that you've found the Ferrari for you, then you should, in my opinion, grasp it with both arms and have as much fun as you can, because ultimately that is what owning a Ferrari is all about..........well, that and for showing off at traffic lights to 'Z' owners obviously!

I think you should forget the real thing and become a wanabe!

MR2 all the way baby!!

that is the WORST F40 replica i have ever seen. there was one in the Bodyshop i use once and i thouught THAT was bad but..........

I agree with the MR2 idea. I almost bought a White replica on an MR2. was hard to tell from the real thing. Plus, you get cheap servicing, better MPG etc.

I think he's kidding! LOL. They look crap in person. The wheel base is completely wrong, it sounds like ass....and even the above 360, look at the rear wheels in relation to the arch?

I'd never buy a wannabe....I'd buy a replica, but the ones that use existing donor cars are wannabes.

The ones that look spot on have large wheel spacers to match the body but a local Automotive engineering place said they are dangerous, one of the reasons i didn't get it. Was looking at this the same time as i bought the Z. Happy with my choice though :)

Spacers? No, I wasn't talking about the wheel track, I was talking about the wheel base! LOL

I think he's kidding! LOL.

I most certainly was! There's a youngster who lives near who I see from time to time driving a MR2 replica and he thinks he's the bees knees. I'm waiting to pull up next to him and compliment him on his replica just to see his face drop, because he does think he's driving the real deal lol!

They're friggin expensive too. Good ones go for about £20k! At what point wouldn't a Honda NSX be a far far better idea! LOL

Brother had a 348 for a couple of years when I had my silver zed (Decat, 13psi, jwt chip, lightened under drive pully) and 0-30 ferrari's nose would be 3 feet in front of mine, 30 - 60 I'd real him in and be neck and neck all the way to 150~ish.

Servicing has to be done or no one will buy it off you, servicing costs £5000 for a major (Engine out cam belt), dog leg gearbox is anoying, you sit at an angle with your feet pointing into the middle of the car not straight forward and feels odd, eats tyres very quickly, VERY heavy stearing, you get called a cock a lot be people with small penises who want one but cant afford one (would honestly happen daily or more with the roof off).

Stay well clear it will be an unrelable bucket of puss that will end up making you feel sick every time that you look at it. Everything about Ferraris except for the looks suck. Eveyone will tell you that and you will think that you know better and buy one anyhows (I did).

The second best day of your life is buying a Ferrari the best day of your life is selling it.

They a VERY unreliable, even the smallest little things are hugely over priced to the extent of madness. £400 for a replacement mirror glass, £350 for a little plastic switch etc etc. A friend of mine bought one of these and I told him this before he bought it, he ended up selling it six months later after wasting a fortune on it before he was able to sell it.

Typically when you look at a Ferrari log book they have had more owners than a 1976 capri. Reason being everyone longs to own one until they find out just how bad they are and cost to run then sell them to get a decent car.

Anyhows on the plus side they ae real head turners and everytime you drive it you will feel like a film star, you will get loads of attention and people will take lots of pictures.

Im not short of a few quid but holy crap Ferrari ownership made me want to throw up more than a few times. Even real basic stuff will have an extra few grand attached to it. Almost every Ferrari has been clocked regularly as well as they are very milage sensative. Just price up simple stuff like replacing the brakes and tyres. Or doing clutches or cam belt changes and you will see it gets very expensive.

BUT DONT DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i must ad-mitt i am a (youngster) 24 but i do have my own company which i have worked very hard for. the z seems to cost quite a lot to maintain probably because its had a bad life but it cant cost that much more can it? i love the look of them, and i do like pretty badges:biggrin:

348 and 355 were two of the best looking modern day Ferraris and many achnowledge that! I think you're in a minority there! LOL 348 and 355 are great looking cars. Pert and sexy, great stances/lines. Really nice looking cars.

BTW, I think the 250 California was far nicer looking than the GTO!

I agree there Si......
