Well???

Please dont mention Japspeed crap.Or Powerflow or Longlife tat either. I dont want one with bends formed with a hammer and a blowtorch.

Mongoose/Blueflame not capable of handling the volume of gas.Diameter too small

Alunox custom system?? Yes I know about this option. I have seen two fabulous examples.

So...?????

 I say the same about Powerflow etc, yet people still think they are a good product! Utter shite. There's better quality in scaffold poles.

If you want an off-the-shelf system, go for BillyBoat (B&B) exhausts. A lot of the big power guys in the US run these and they look the business too. They sound very good and are exceptionally well made.

Unfortunately that one is for the family stretch version of the Z32.:whistling:

I need a system for a proper car.....its a Slicktop:wink:

But many of you knew that already I guess

Labree is deffo on the list tho. but we will need to import one.

Its a very nice looking high quality exhaust.

..but if peformance over looks is the main aim I would be looking at :

Thanks Dave..... for the link to the Billy goat one and the speciality Z one.

I already have reservations tho about Speciality Z as they wont reply to enquiries about the baffled sump, so buying from them is looking to be a bit of a nightmare.

We shall see.

Next????

500bhp?! Have you gone to the darkside of forced induction pete, or have you gone for two of these?!

Buy the labree one and shorten it. Would be easy to do woundt it?

Looking at those prices, Alunox wouldn't be that much more expensive anyway and you get your choice on diameter, tail pipe design etc.

No mate. The two cars have different design of exhausts.

the popular misconception is that you can just cut n weld a 2+2 to go on a SWB.

you are probably correct John but in the interests of fairness and cost I need to look at all the options.

Hi Pete, take your car to JP ExHausts in Macclesfield. They build you what you want while you wait.Had mine built by them. They have a website as well for info.

hayward and scott? heard they make some pretty amazing exhaust systems

info

Pete, I have the 4.5" quad oval B&B on mine, with resonaters in the test pipes and centre section they are still pretty loud as you'll remember :)

re specialtyZ, they are good guys to talk to and normally responsive

Dont dismiss getting the exhaust altered to fit the swb! I`ve just had a LWB stainless system altered to fit my vert and there isnt that much to alter? just a thought?

Daz.

Yep James your whole package is really excellent.

We are not going quite so extreme with this project but we are deffo on your tail powerwise:tt2:

i appreciate your thoughts and I know someone else who has done one. But on this project there can be no compromise. We need a known solution that will handle the volume of gas produced by an egine that is well in to the 500 horses league.

Hi mate, as you know 2 main reasons for lack of performance in exhausts, is length and bends.

Can't do much about the length on a Zed unless you exit at the front lol, hmm

That's why when you look at the Labree in the attached pic, you can see what they do at the Zeds most restrictive part, then reduce the severity of the bends as they go into the back boxes.

B+B and SpecialtyZ also do this and tuned their Zeds whilst developing the systems they make. I've a SZ one and is top bannana :tt2:

Anyway looking at the other exhausts in the pics below which are simply copies of the stock system, hence their cheapness to manufacture, you can see why yes, quality and decent systems, but don't deliver the goods when chasing those ponies.

All this bumph, could be no use to yer, but maybe not, least you know what you need to look for in your intended purchase.....

Good luck which ever way you go.

As always Paul some very valid points.

Its more difficult on a SWB to get the bends smooth cos you are missing 11 inches of length(oooh er mrs!!) and because of the different fuel tank arrangement.

This has been a very interesting thread(IMO) with lots of good input which has all been noted.

Thanks guys.

What about Granfab at bulwell Pete , not cheap but his work is superb , ask Mantav8 he,s had a few systems off him .

I have a B&B on my own Zed and have ordered/installed about 5 other sets on Zeds and I have to say they are certainly not exceptionally well made....

Fitment is not good, acceptible to the eye at the very best and some of the welds look like they have been done by a 4 year old.

It doesn't even come close to exhausts from eg. HKS, Greddy, Labree or even Mongoose.

They do sound lovely though ! :D
