Best person to ask is Dan from DTA had a convo about this a while back

Ie: universal over z32 fit

  • Author
no idea...but thats more expensive than the proper 300zx fitment Apexi!

Is it?

I thought they were well over £100 from DTA.

correct there a bit over a hundred now at dta to my knowledge, there is a recent thread around listing price etc

i thought there was a world wide shortage on genuine Apexi's

Yeah i heard the same Bri! ....supply and demand issue perhaps?

Yes, there's a major supply problem (worldwide) and as such prices have gone up astronomically. Rrp used to be £65 however now it's £110 ... :-(

Anyway, I've got access to very limited stock at one of my suppliers (

Regards,

Is there any benefit of the apexi over other filters? I have a gigantic hks filter on mine but no idea how long it's been on and could possibly do with being cleaned/replaced

Never heard a bad report on an apexi, it's also a dry type filter better for our maff i heard?

not sure on other makes i eased away from foam type filters though but know many that are very pleased with them :)

Yup, better filtration and airflow over any other manufacturer (proven).

I went for an A'pexi.

thats the main reason I wasnted one, to do away with the oil type filters.

Managed to get 1 from Dan @ DTA, should be here in a couple of days

Excellent will be easy fit then :D

hmmmmmmm looks like that will be getting changed next then, whats the crack with these twin filter thingymajigs aswell? guessing over a certain power you need them?

you would not really see the benefit performance wise i guess without other supportinmg mods.

I have thought about this though but would like my own splitter made that faces the cone's forward instead of back.

I found that Horsham Developments was quite cheap. As they specialise in 200sx's the filter for the z32 MAF is considerably cheaper than for their own...

Yes, I tried them and they haven't got any in stock when I checked yesterday. Also, this is just for the universal filter head, the gasket and fixing bolts are not included.

When I purchased from them it was the exact fitment for the Z32 maf, no adaptor or flange required, it came with the gaskets and bolts and it just bolted straight on :s

did not know it was only universal flange needed then? :( are all your units z32 fit danny?

Yes, our Apexi kits are specific to the Z32. The issue with the universal flange is that they don't line up nicely with our Z32 MAF design. I very often see Apexi kits advertised as being for the Z32 and then pictured with either the 350Z or S14 MAF plate/gasket. Neither of these work well on our Z32's.

@ Rigs, that may have been from old stock then ... guess you were lucky.

Depends on whos testing it, other tests have had some interesting results :)

I tried to get a couple of the Austrailian cheapo's to try, but ended up with the AEM Dryflows. Flow aint too much of an issue as I have a twin filter set up
