Hey, I figured I should register over here since Ill be in germany for the next 2 years. My username on 3ZC is MonolithMonolith. I used to own an 85 NA that was a hunk of junk, but I still love it, and it got me obsessed with Z's. I want to buy a TT while Im here, but I'm having trouble finding them. Figured the best place to look would be a forum. If anyone can help, that would be great. Lastly, is it hard to buy a Z outside of Germany and bring in? I have never dealt with that kind of stuff. Well, I will be lurking around for a while. Hopefully I find a TT here soon.

Well welcome to the site :D

Not sure regarding buying a Left hand drive Zed (Zee! lol) in Europe - I assume you'll be wanting Left Hand drive and not Right Hand drive?! In some countries they are charging stupid prices though! I'm sure someone who knows will be along soon to help you out though.

also we have a member on here (jonce) who is currently living in germany, he has his zed over there with him

will pm him the link to this

Hi there mate,

As Stellaz said, i'm based in Gutersloh, same place as Jonce. We can import UK cars into Germany and they get registered on the British Forces Germany system.

The cars have to be fitted with euro spec headlights (not US as they are flat beam) and tested to comply with German laws.

The Z32 wasnt a hit on Germany, i've been here 2 years and only seen 1 LHD Z31 and not a single Z32. If you do manage to find one they will be VERY expensive compared to the UK prices, they are a bit more common in Holland.

I would reccommend to look at the possibility of getting a UK car and importing it into Germany.

I'm assuming you are with the US forces as your in Ramstein? I fly down there a bit so will have to give you a shout.

Hope that helps a little bit, feel free to give me a shout anytime bud.

Rob

And me LOL...im back from Czech yippppppppppppppppeeeeeeeeeeee

Ah yes there you are, I had heard you were back. Saw your better half the other day. Drive back to the UK tomorrow on leave for a week. Phone/txt when I get back buddy.

I am glad everyone here is willing to help out. I have seen one silver NA on base, and I guess theres a red (TT maybe?) running around base with one of the big spoilers. Lots of 350Z's and a couple 370's. If the car is decently priced, and importing fees arent outrageous, I am okay with paying for it. I want one bad enough. I am stationed at Ramstein AB (Air Force) and my first goal once i got out of basic training was to buy a TT. I have only seen a few on mobile.de. All very expensive. I saw on here like, 3000 or so and I was like "wow, that is cheap" then I saw that that came out to like, 6 or 8k dollars. Well, I plan on having one by the end of the summer. I will be poking around here and look forward to meeting everyone. Thanks for the help.

Hey Chris!

Just got your message over on 3ZC. Euro Z32s are very expensive. They hold their price better than US Z32 TTs. Germany and France seem to be the most expensive markets. You might be better off importing one from one of the Sunshine states of the US. Depends whether you can live with RHD in continental Europe.

Beware though, there are a horrendous amount of shit ones in the UK. I mean a serious amount of dirt that I wouldn't look twice at. UK cars tend to be rusty unless they are well cared for or low mileage.

I'd say you're better off importing a Z from CA or AZ or something.

Well, if I do import one from the states, I have up to a year from last march to do it for free. So thats a plus. The wait will kill me though, but at least itll be US spec and I will be able to keep it and take it back if I want. I want to look around, but I dont want to even begin to browse until I know how much I am spending. Im aiming at spending between 7k to 10k USD.
