Hi everyone, ive only been out for a couple of drives in my new 300zx and it is incredible. I love it!

However, the boost gauge goes from -7 to +7 but when i put my foot down it doesnt go above about +5? when its idling it is at -7 which i no is normal, but i no there has been a lot of chat on here about safety boost and im guessing thats what it is.

So long story short, how do i get the safety off!

thank you all in advance,

from the knightrider zed.

I wouldn't rely on stock gauges either, they have a reputation of being anything but accurate.

ive got the jap spec gauge so its -7 +7, so how does this translate into PSI?

it doesnt quite make it to +7 with my foot down...

  • 2 weeks later...

i have the same -7 to +7 its mmHg i think in psi its 14 to 14 so if you hit 5 then its 10psi altho i am a newb myself so i may have to stand corrected

ill do some research on wikepedia but if you look on youtube all TT's that have -7 to +7 all say mmhg on the gauge but all 14 to 14 say psi so id like to think +7 is 14psi :D

If it's not reaching the +7 mark on the gauge are you sure it's boosting ok?

why not put the car into diagnostic with a trusty paper clip/jumper leads and if it is in safety you get the code flash up...have a search on how to to this

cheers
