I am lucky enough to have a spare VG30DETT in the garage, me and my mate were discussing sticking it in a classic car. I've got the engine crossmember, mounts, loom, ecu, etc etc, what would be a good car for it do you think?

I originally planned to keep it as a spare and get it uprated and rebuilt for mine, but I also like the idea of a one-off project car. Purely speculation at the mo, but open to any ideas flying around?

The 280C estate looked better than the 610. The 610 was a Bluebird chassis as well.

Some more food for thought. This is another 260c

They went very 'american' at that era, toyota, datsun, etc, theres some very nice cars from then but they are usually mega bucks.

You just missed out on a really cool 70s 280c (Gloria). My friend's uncle had one in a beige colour with only 30,000 on the clock. Immaculate. It sold for about £2,500 I think.

I think we're on the right track here guys, I'm especially liking the datsun 510, looks ready for a VG30 engine, if it'll fit lol

Pity he didn't put UK rears on it, would have made quite a difference I reckon, looks like it could take something slightly wider on the back.

Positive camber

Most of the cars in this thread look like Austin Allegro's or old Lada's with some bling alloys and loweres suspension, and were pretty awfull cars in their day.....but suddenly they become "Cool" becuase they are now classic.

An S30 (240z/260z) would be my first choice, but failing that then a 510 seems like an ideal candidate. Either go the ful sleeper mode, or something like this :

How about the early box shape micra? Now that would be a comical thing! Although i expect it would be more of build a chassis and put a micra body on it but there we go!

This is what you want though! Datsun 2000 roadster.

looks very Triumph TR5/6 that

How about the early box shape micra?

Why did I meet you for food last night! :taz:

I'd go down the Z31 route first - it'd be less work..........

........failing that I like these suggestions!!

I always liked the 260c coupe.

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

I really like the Z31 idea :) but would not rule out the 280zx would be nice to see the vg in one of them!
