Dual! I'd NEVER consider a single....NEVER EVER. Looks completely wrong and there's no way it sounds anywhere near as nice as the traditional dual on a V6. You loose the burble.

Single exit sound by far the best to me, the sound is amazing.

Im much more a fan of the Straight 6 note rather than the V6 note. Like the Supra, my favourite thing and the only thing I prefer about it to the Z, is the Sound.

The 'V' burble is glorious on a V8, but not as pleasing on a V6.

Unfortuantly I could never live with the looks of just a single exit.

I've never understood people's excitement over the sound of a single. You loose that glorious and distinctive note of the VG.

I don't find the noise of a straight 6 anywhere near as exotic as a nice V. I think the exhaust note of the Supra isn't that great. Heard one the other day and they are so droany. I've heard other supras too and they sound droany,

Also, any single system I've ever seen on a Z looks restrictive.

It's like removing a woman's boob.

This is what I imagine when I think 'single exhaust'.

GO for the HKS Hiper exhaust if its on an swb mate!

I had a custom single exit system made, sounds amazing when u kick it, single for me.

Cheers John

Dual for looks and sound for me, I hate single exits, sorry if you have one, but they look unbalanced and wrong. Dual pipes with twin exits either side for best looks, imo

Daz.

Has to be dual for me,just dont think the back looks good with just a single comeing out,and when i see a dual exhaust i just think of power but thats just me.

To give my opinion, I do love the sound of my mates 5zigen exhaust on his Supra, which is a Single exit, I do see where Si is coming from with the Droany sound, and my mates note is quite deep and resonated.. the only Z I have heard with a Single exit, is Fridays Silver N/A fook me that was loud...

But then, I suppose it was an N/A and I presume they may sound louder than a T/T... Definately prefer the looks of the twin, and also Dave, if you get your TwinZ diffuser, you're goin to have 1 Gap where the missing exhaust would be!!

I will mention aswell, the majority of car shows I have been to, everyone stops and looks when a supra blasts past and a skyline... Not due to the looks or anything, but the exhaust note, I find in general the Z to be quiet when compared with Supras and Skylines (Straight 6's)..

Other than perhaps a custom alunox system, your veilside is about the best sounding there is. Most dual exits on a Z just dont sound as good.

Restriction isn't an issue becuase you only need a diameter of around 3.5" to match the cross-dimensional area of a typical 2.5" dual exit sytem, and most are 4" or even larger.

Unfortuantly they just dont look as good, I agree, especially with the stock rear bumper.

oh Im not talking about my Z. Im just curious over people's sound preferences.

Although im not expecting everyone to have had much experience of both systems.

I picked twin exit for sound and looks. the car came with twin exits. let it have twin exits. they look a lot better. and considering its not a MOD like most people like to do to their straight 4's, we have a reason to have twin pipes and should embrace it.

Not only that it keeps the car symmetrical and looking a lot better imo.

Oooh and the sound is nice too.

well i personanly wish i had a dual exhaust,

here is a clip of mine with single exhaust,,, its just doesn't sound right and needs more of a burble than a constant forcing sound :(

only problem is most exhausts i see for sale say "2+2 only" so until i find a used twin for my SWB then ill have to stick to this.

Plus my bumper can the groove from the stock rear bumper where another exhaust SHOULD be!

apologies for my mates speed and music selection (and members previous comments of bare feet driving!)

the one below shows that i have no fuel but i had actually over half a tank, can't remember problem but when i had my car in a garage down Brentwood it returned fine after i mentioned fault (can't remember what he did to fix)

BUT!!!! let this be a lesson to you..... single sounds nowhere near as good inside or outside of the car as a dual (well mine don't anyway :p)

Quad exit twin system for me - singles just dont look right on a zed IMO & agree with the drone you can get too.

I went with the Mongoose system on mine as it looks great with a nice tone but not too loud - would drive me insane with that constant droning noise you get with some systems!!:pinch:

Hmm well I've got a single and a dual so can comment. Single definitely not restrictive as proven by my very own red one. And I get a LOT of positive comments about the sound too. Dual looks best though absolutely no doubt about that and I prefer the standard quad look by far :)

quad for looks, well made single for performance (ie weight and flow)

quad for looks, well made single for performance (ie weight and flow)

yes agreed, but im sure if you payed the right money you could get the nice looks of a quad with the performance from a single.

probably just costs a mint though

no quad will be lighter than a single... flow and power can be matched though

That's how I voted.....

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

I would agree with a full 3" dual system over a single, because a single exhaust system is not quite a true single system with the Z. You still have to go to dual down & H/X pipes @ some point. If your looking for the sickest sounding exhaust system for the Z it got to be the Kakimoto exhaust with no resonators or cats. It's not cheap but damn it sound sick!!

removed the non working links for you :)

Ok that did work very well, I just send the links for Kakimoto exhaust (oops)

mines got a hks super dragger single,it was on it when i bought it, not my choise i prefere the twin for looks. but saying that it sounds nice and is a good quality bit of kit.
