Iv'e got a weak clicking from one of my injectors and the piston isn't firing. Ive checked for spark & its fine. Is there a way of testing the injector electronically (Multimeter). If I do go for injector replacement and pull the plenum, what seals gaskets etc will I require & where's the best place to purchase them?

Many thanks.

Not sure if injectors can be tested in situ using a multimeter - someone with more knowledge on that front will be along soon no doubt.

With regard to gaskets, etc. required, you're looking at a plenum gasket and some upper and lower injector O-rings. If you're removing the whole fuel rail you may also wish to consider buying the fuel rail-to-plenum seals (assuming you only pull one fuel rail you'll only need three of these seals as opposed to six).

If this is all you're doing then the above will be sufficient. However, if you alos remove the throttle bodies (not necessary) then I you'll also need new throttle body gaskets.

Let me know once you've decided which parts you need and I'd be happy to provide you with a quotation.

Many thanks mate. As soon as I've decided/found out what to do, I'll be in touch. Cheers

IMO matey, i would not pull the plenum for 1 or 2 injectors, or even all injectors. Mate, i replaced all my injectors using the dremel method, and i know, i know.... replies... here they come!!!

If you need help matey, give me a shout and i will come round to give you a hand. It is an easy job, 6 injectors replaced in approx 3 hours.

Al.

oh and by teh way you can test them in situe just pop off the connector there brittle so be carefull. there hidden by your spark plugs. get a multi meter and put it on ohm you will see two prongs inside pop your positive negative on ther two prongs and you should get a ohm reading, i think it should be between 12-14ohms if there outside of this i belive there shagged, sum 1 else may be able to giv eyou more detail onm this subject but i did mine a few weeks back, found they needed a good clean up on the contacts rather than anything else

Im with ALANZ on this one,

The dremel method works very well.

Sounds a lot scarier than it really is.

Its just 'dremelling' a small piece off the plenum.

If you try to put a screwdriver in the screws securing each injector, you will see how much of the plenum you need to remove.

Dont be greedy, only need enough removed to get a good fit +a little bop on the end with a 'toffee' hammer + they unscrew easy.Obviously dont allow any ally dust/crap to get near anything important + vaseline + gentle twisting is your friend when putting a new injector in.

before u try pulling the injector swap the connecter with another injector thats working & turn the cas by hand see if it still sounds week? might be a bad conection?

If your upper plenum has never been off then yes, I guess the dremel method makes sense. If it's been messed with previously and bypassed, EGR removed etc then it's much quicker and easier to take it off. Have to say I dremelled one of my injectors out (was stuck open) and subsequently ended up removing the plenum 4 times anyway...

Make sure you use Nissan OE gaskets and seals, no end of trouble with cheap replacements.
