Branson Z Fest is held every year in Branson, Missouri. Caters for all the Z car range, S series, Skylines and G series Nissans. I've not been yet, but keep getting bugged my 3ZC admin of whom I've been to other Z shows across the US to.

Initial plan was to meet up with some crazy guys in LA who drive cross country via Oregan!!! That was a 5 day drive in a Z which would have been fun, but I don't have that sort of time since I'll be down in San Diego mostly.

So, I'm flying into Springfield (MO) from Los Angeles. Then heading upstate to Rolla to pick up my ride for the duration of the show. A silver 1993 2+2 with brand new suspension, 370Z wheels and loads of other new stuff on before the drive down to Branson which is about 20 miles from the state line of Missouri and Arkansas.

Lots of partying at the hotel, theres a big show, drag race day and then 2 days worth of cruise routes through the Ozark mountains.

Wanted to drive these roads for a few years now and will get the chance in a Z!

I was wondering what the Branson Z fest was that you have on your sig. - Knew it wouldn't be anything UK related :( - we just don't seem to have the enthusiasm that the yanks have or the weather, or the nice long open roads...

I really should get to more UK shows. I have been to Japfest at CC a few times. But the weather is always so dreary. A lot of the other shows have always clashed with other things I was doing and/or the weather was shite. Don't really get much enthusiasm for parking up in a field in a tent for a weekend with it pissing down with rain.

Hopefully this year, the weather will be good and I'll have enough time to get to them. I do want to try and get to JAE or the 'other' show.

The US shows are good, very different from the UK car enthusiast scene. Lots of different activities/drives/shows/drag and track events. Also, the authorities in the US are much more car friendly, whereas over here, they are very anti-car and try to prevent you doing anything. A MWZF last year, the local police shut down a old large iron bridge that spanned the Colorado River for us in Tulsa and we had the entire thing just for the show....that would NEVER happen over here! LOL. I can't imagine any hotel would agree to having 40 car enthusiast stay on its site and hosting a banquet for them either. Everyone's just anti-car in the UK

I did a lot of the UK show scene when I had my last car and got a little tired of it. Tended to be a yearly weekend meet at Billing camps site or Santa Pod and that was it....all the other shite like the Fast Car show and Max Power...never interested me at all...or that yearly chav fest called 'Donny'.

I really need to get my Znationals photos up. They are still in my camera!

Well, I mean we have Z010 coming up, and I am hoping to go to JAE too, so hopefully might see you there! - But as you said, we are anti-car in the UK, and always weather permitting..

Also, I tend to find that a majority of Z32 owners are passionate about their cars, but when you see someone driving a 350Z or even a 370Z in the UK, they aren't buying them because they are iconic or they have actually looked into the prestige of the cars, they just bought them for the looks alone and don't really acknowledge other Z owners.. Also in this country everything has to be MODERN, and the amount of people at work who have told me to get my car in at the scrappage scheme is a joke because they don't like old cars!

Even some of the Nissan dealers don't know what a 300ZX is over here lol.. I guess in America they are used to having big engined cars, and 3.0litre is probably considered small over there, but in the UK it's a big engine gas guzzler.. so maybe that's turned peoples attention away.. back to what you said about being anti-car again .. :(

Nice picks Si:thumbup:love the retro zeds

There's plenty of interesting stuff there. At Znationals they had a few V8 powered S14as which were done really well. Shame I didn't get photos of those. VQ45 engines.

There's always a red 240 with 650bhp Chevy V8 in it...that guy goes to most of the shows in the midwest. Sounds amazing.

The GT-Rs are popular, usually about 7 or 8 of them turn up.
