Hi all, remember my thread about a super clean low mileage UK zed? for those who do read on for those who don't click the link below

Well having had among a lot of unseen upgrades the large calipers did mean new wheels were required and so we fitted a spanky set of 19" rims and tyres, getting a good deal on these at the moment.

So enjoy a few pics below.

Fraid not. Lovely car and nice wheels, just can't stand black wheels, especially with the red lip, everyone seems to be doing this at the moment. Saw a Corsa SXI yesterday that the owner had painted the wheels black and put a red lip on.

Ahh yeah, i do have an excuse, these are Rota GTR "Drift" wheels apparently, factory colours!

Although one or two are a bit marked now with age so a wheel paint is on the cards, not sure what colour. When stenorth had this car it had some 17" volks in a bronze colour, looked awesome on those so might go back to a similar colour!

Get them powder coated shadow chrome. :) Would look amazing on that design of wheel IMO.

Lovely car in the flesh but IMHO 19" wheels look wrong on a zed 18" suit it better

as said above bit of a shame to see it modified but its all reversable

i thought the orange car (just been sold?) was despoilerd. please tell me it has not just had that wing put on again.

swb from hereford?

I love that Red Z, and I dislike Pink/Red cars. IMO all it needs is a bit more of a drop and the roof bars painted black.. that would be it if it was mine, then I would just spend the rest of my ownership maintaining it. - Although i'm sure the owner wanted to stick a kit on it at one point, but Jeff persuaded him not too

The red lip is part of the drift spec scene, I believe they are called 'Time Attack' Wheels lol..

Unfortunately the pics where just after the wheels had been fitted and been jacked and lowered the car had not been moved so the suspension had not settled, having said that we fitted eibach springs the owner had bought elsewhere and was surprised it did not sit a bit lower than it does now.

Jeff

Don't know why but UK Zed's always seem to sit higher on standard suspension than the Jap versions. Is it because of the adjustable damping? Mine always looks a good inch higher when parked next to a Jap Zed at meets. :headvswal

yep thats right "time Attack" style wheels actually carries a certain heritage and history from the jap racing scene, before all the saxo, corsa crews started band wagoning on the style i would only tend to see "time attack style wheels on a very seriously tuned car.

Lol! You know me too well mate! Yeah got plenty of petrol in for once but it's just always sat that bit higher than everyone else's.. Was hoping in the 7 years i've had my Zed the springs would have sagged a bit to lower it down but no such luck...

Hey behave my 19" look spot on :slap:

I saw this car at Zedworld today.....

....it does look good, even if the new wheels are a little too "bling" for a standard car. Oh and the suspension appears to have settled nicely too:punk:

Richard:yes:

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

There's another lowish mileage UK 300ZX on Car and Classic....The wheels don't look quite right though.....

Concours 300zx 31000 genuine miles For Sale (1992) on Car And Classic UK

That looks a nice car - I do have a soft spot for red Zs though.....

......I can understand what you mean about the wheels; not many car colours can wear gold rims but I reckon red ones can just get away with it! Still not to my choice though..... But that's a nice ZX nonetheless!
