Water Injection - has anyone had a go with this yet?

Featured Replies

Have a word with mike feeney of zclub, he runs it on his supercharged 350z or he's in the process of fitting it i think?

Were you not getting Custom Management Andy? If you were you can get a setup for Water injection as the things you need to know is Flow Rate, Mist level, When it kicks in (as in RPM/ Boost) and when to cut off. Think thats about it IIRC, then you dont even need the super expensive aquamist rigs.

Aquamist are really just a Water Tank, Nozzle, Pump and Triggers for it to go on and off etc which can be done in Custom ECU Packs.

We got one using a high flow Valve and nozzle, a Window washer Reservoir, and a small electric water pump and the whole thing was about 30quid! Put a setup on his Engine management and after testing before we put it in fiddled about then saw a noticeable increase in boost performance and a HUGE decrease in manifold Temps and its been working well ever since!

I remember another system

Could be a alternative seeing it from a Zed store in the US :)

I think the power increases are limited TBH however definitely helps to keep it cool during boost

Ahhhh good man Bob - can you provide any feedback, opinions or insight. I have convinced myself that it is not a mod JUST for the big HP producing motors - but a great way preserve (clean) and sustain my engine, and of course provide smooth power, with more boost.

I have looked at several 'kits' now and I have just been talking with Jacob at Interex who are the Uk distributer for Aquamist and they have offered me the new/latest HFS-6 FIDC tracking system at a great price so... :taz:

Thanks in advance...

Have not gone down the ECU road yet as my car is still in a million bits, lol

but once I get it back on the road - it's on my list.

Cheers.

Some good info on water injection here: http://www.interex.co.uk/

For between £200-400.00 squids sounds like a no-brainer.

Yep - not necessarily interested in power gains...

Difficult for me to judge. I had so many mods done at the same time which included the water injection I can't say. Dan Turner who now looks after my car thinks it's a valuable modification. Having driven the car quite hard for about 3000 miles over the past couple of months I have not suffered any plug foul up or in fact any other mechanical issues. Not sure that's just down to water injection rather a really good set-up.

This is fairly common on turbocharged motorbikes.

The benefits apart from cooler charges is higher boost can be used safely on engines that would otherwise melt :gunsmilie:

Yes - water injection will steam clean your internals nicely.
