42 years old & I can't wipe my arse anymore (graphic pictures)

Hah!! Made you look!!!!

Thought I'd post an update on my rear end as I cleaned it up a bit!!

I removed the wiper and squirter as you may have seen.

I have since decided to ditch the grommet idea for the rear screen and instead have used Tiger Seal.

All I did was place some tape underneath the tailgate to sop the tiger seal from dripping through, injected the tiger seal into the hole in a thin layer and allow to set. The next day i removed the tape from underneath then layered some more seal into the hole, this time strengthening it with a metal plate to give rigidity. The following day I filled in some more so that the seal was proud of the screen and then, whilst it was still wet, took a stanley knife blade and dragged it across the top of the hole giving a flush finnish. The end result is a very clean fill in black with almost (but not quite) the same shine as the glass.

What do you reckon???

nice mate, nice stance!

not to sure about the blackened out centre lights tho........

Looks ok, but I think I'd rather have something there than a rubber bung on the tailgate. Reminds me of Fiesta Populars that were so low specc'd they didn't get a rear wiper. I quite like them smoothed off though, not something I'd do as I don't want redundant switchgear, but it looks good none the less.

Thanks. The blackened out centre panel makes the rear look less cluttered and not quite so eighties if you ask me. Each to their own though.

A small 3mm high rubber bung is less intrusive than a Primera rear wiper!! A 300zx with a Primera wiper reminds me of a erm, let me think........... a Primera. (Wow, I can do snide comments too, this is great!)

Nissan put a rear wiper on a flagship sports car in 1989. Probably a compromise and not the best decision in the world. I think it looks better without.

The Z32 has some nice curves and the less distractions on the body-line the better.

As for redundant switch gear, yeah that is a really good point. I have lost several nights sleep over that. What will people think when they see that the little toggle on the left of the instrument pod is still there and I have no rear windscreen wiper? Do you think they will point and stare or even laugh? Please advise I need to get some sleep!

In your defense though, you last comment is correct.

It does look good mate - I reckon I prefer the "sans wiper" look....

......however personally, I'll keep the wash-wipe function as it's quite a large rear screen and I find the wiper comes in handy......Then again there is always Rain-X;)

Definitely have that wiper hole filled though mate!!

Richard:cool:

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

i like it got to get round to doing mines cause i dont drive in the rain anyway!and i like the blacked out centre panel as well!

I think the black panel looks good, would look alot better on a black car, maybe u should have done it the same colour as the car?

Exactly! I didn't buy a 3.0 V6 Twin Turbo two seater targa roofed sports car to go reversing in the rain!!!!!!!!!!

Glad you like it!

Yeah, I looked at that but wanted a long black strip to help widen the look of the rear.

like the look of the rear end . how did u delete the middle panel sign and the little lights ??

Took panel off car.

De-greased with brake cleaner.

Very light sanding with emery cloth to create a key.

Sprayed lightly over lights to allow lights to shine through when activated with satin black paint and heavily over 300ZX logo.

3 coats of lacquer and then after a few weeks, buffed up with T-Cut whilst on the car to match the same shine as the light panel either side.

I like the rear centre panel too, good work! ;)

Do your reversing lights still show through the newly-painted panel? Is it MOT legal?

Yes Lammypie,

The reversing lights and fog lights still shine through. It passed its MOT no problem on the rear fog.

Andy

Cheers Buddy.
