Hi all,

Today i managed to get one of my 300zx turbos running. I bought it from a guy who rebuilt the engine but never got it to run (4 years ago). I found loads wrong with it.

However, its running now but the turbos are not boosting at all. I have checked them and they're not seized so it has to be something else.

Whats the score with the little egr valves on the sides os the turbos? Is there any way of testing them?

Has anyone else come across this problem?

they arnt the EGR valves,

they are boost solenoids, which control the boost.

if they are broke/not wired correctly, it should still boost on 7 PSI.

unless your wastege pipes arnt connected?

there are 2 waste gate pipes, 1 each turbo, goes to the IC pipe each side.

check that first i would

thanks will do.

The guy that fitted this engine didn't have a clue.

Crank was 2 teeth out

washer jets plugged into the breather system

coils & injectors all mixed up

no knock sensor

EGR's & VVT solenoids & sensors all plugged up wrong.

dipstick tube wrapped around the turbo to a Z shape

Most of the breather system missing and connected up wrong.

And the list goes on.............. what a numpty

there are some diagrams on here that show you all the turbo pipes, the way they should be.

yeah they are connected. I'm sure the guy just piped them up wrong. When it stops raining i'll get out there and take a look.

thanks for the advice chaps
