This is all from Kyle Puckett in the US

I am just in the process of confirming the order and hope to pay for it all next week

I am just asking about putting a 96 Gearbox on and if his engines are OK with NOS... so that might also go on but if hes not keen on NOS I will leave it.

Can you tell me is there anything missing I will need?? or anything you would change.

Its exciting!!!

That's pretty reasonable all things considered. Nice order that one. I'm in Portsmouth on Monday mate if you're about.

i would have gone for the 725 turbos as there the newer version from garrett but your best emailing or talking to kyle if you havnt to get his advice :) also i dont think your clutch will be upto the job, best upgrading to (if funds allow) a carbon carbon or go for a multi plate clutch

What about internal work?? or is that the stage 6 long block??

yeh stage 6 is what i bought, its about as good as you can builld a zed engine and kyle guarantees it for upto 1300bhp

also i'm 99% sure mac bought a new 96+ spec box and that didnt last very long, the sycros were better in the later box but still not upto big power.

if it was me doing what your doing pm mac about his gearbox project ;)

Kyle put the spec together, and I have just added an upgraded Manual gearbox as well as a NOS Kit. He said his engines and this spec he put together will be absolutely fine using NOS.

i just think the clutch is right on its limits for the power your going for and for the money your investing you may as well spend a few more hundred quid and get a clutch which will eat your power with no issues :)

Ok let me speak to him about clutches... thanks for the advice.. What BHP do you think this should do?

well with the stage 6 engine and depending on what cam size you go for i would expect over 600 bhp with similar torque which to equate to usa bhp is more like 700++ bhp so i really dont think an rps 6 puck clutch will last 5 minutes once your running full power :)

ooo thats sexy

I still think you should seriously look into an LS V8 conversion lots of gearboxes and clutches to handle 725bhp raw normally aspirated power, and you can be as low tech as a carb without a turbo in sight. Engine will be lighter so in theory should handle better too..... and with gearbox will still be cheaper.

Si my office is in segensworth if you want a coffeee just pop in..

Sounds good to me. I'm visiting a design engineer at Raymarine in the AM. Should be about by midday I'd imagine.

i think the achilles heel in that lot will be the clutch, you will probbably find it will slip in high gears at full boost settings. as Kirbz said, try a carbon carbon or multi plate. maybe even go for Nismo injectors aswell.

the sard injectors are about as good as you can get but i would invest more money on the clutch

This is what Kyle said about the clutch

"With the Nitrous you may want to look at the RPS Dual Carbon instead. It would hold both the boost and nitrous"

So I will go for that one, thanks guys

good choice buddy, no point investing in something thats not going to last :)

Holy crap I ended up spending another $6,000 by the time you throw a decent cam belt on some NOS and a super expensive clutch and new gearbox, gasket set and some plugs etc.

All agreed and on order now 6-8 weeks to build it up plus the shipping time so over Christmas I can guess what I will be doing.

nice one bud, you wait until you see how it comes ;) kyles attention to details is amazing even the packaging is top notch ;)

Nice one Martin. Bet you can't wait to get it all installed! Good to meet you today too.

...Go buy a TVR with your 20K ... or buy a good kit car or similar if you want to get your hands dirty/start a project.

A zed is a good running side project but it is not sensible to invest that kind of money up front IMHO - and that's from someone who is on his 4th and last ZED.

I bought a Cerbera 2 years ago for 12K and it was the best fun you can have with your clothes on - yes bits fall off sometimes - but that's what you want from a project car/daily driver right ;-)):duffer::smash:
