Who would you reccomend (down south or London way if possible) to do a re bore to 3.2 cryo treat the engine and put all the new forged parts in as well as ugrade the turbos etc?.

Also can you help me make a shopping list of what parts I will actually need and where best to buy them from to go stage 3.

I sent an e-mail to z1 a few days ago and have not had a reply yet. I was thinking of buying the 800+ HP pack from them its just under $20K or would you stay 3.0 and go for the 700HP pack?

Or can I get the help I ned from someone who knows there stuff here in the UK?

Any comments much appreciated

Ohh BTW will be using NOS when finnished as well so need to take that into account.

Jimmer , based in Bristol, has a good reputation here and specialises in engine rebuilds.

Forget "stages", no such thing really. One persons interpretation of a Stage is entirely different to another.

What sort of budget do you have in mind and are we talking RWHP or FlywheelHP ? What are your aims for the car - What do you want to use the car for - for the road, or track work, or 1/4mile , or just looking for big numbers on the Dyno ?

There is a risk with a 3.2 litre overbore of the cylinder walls being too thin, obviously cyrotreating helps. The other option is a Stroker kit.

£15,000 on the engine side of things but If I can 80 % of the best performance for say half of that I would probably do that.

I like the idea of leaving it 3.0L but I am concerned all the cash I throw at it would be wasted going back and upgrading again down the line.

It will just be for road use... whole point of buying one is to see what we can do with it!

for 15k it would be worth buying an engine and tubs like what kirbz did, will still require a an amount of effort and knowledge to fit it all together and make it work but for 15k im sure you will find someone to do it

I thought Bristol was right up north but its only a few hours away so that fits really well! :)

Jimmer again, top bloke, knows everything relating to a 300zx......

Now, how about who NOT to recommend!?!?!

Maybe a thread could start here and keep the members safe!

I know someone!!!!

That is the best thing you can do matey, or.... spend hundreds or thousands on a guy/garage who claims they know what they are doing but in reality, they dont. Get your 300 to "Jimmer", no worries, no problems, just first class work!!

I just upgraded to speak to Jimmer so will discuss options and keep you posted

for 15k you could get 1000bhp im sure:)

You are joking right? You'll need a lot more than that! Ask John Dixon! He's spent about £40k and won't have that power.

Cool.... lets see what can be done!!! I dont pick the mule up till Monday as Chris wanted to do one last show or something. No matter how hard I tried he would not sell it sooner lol.

Slapping some tubs on it would be a different story though, I'd prefer the NA setup myself, but if you wanted Big power, and wanted it for less then thats the option to go for with the V8.

If you stick with the VG30DETT, and your after really BIG power then this is the sort of engine build you want to be looking at :

http://www.importpartspro.com/st5vgloblni3.html

^^ I would take that list to Jimmer, as the basis for your engine spec

You could get away with the Stage 5 setup instead, the difference being the solid lifters with Stage 6 which will allow for a higher rev limit to be aimed for.

and these are the tubs I would go for :

SZ-EXP90

http://www.specialtyz.com/turbos.htm

You will also need be looking at

360degree fuel rail and sard 850cc injectors

Twin Fuel pump setup

Custom ECU Management

Larger intake pipeing

3" intercooler pipeing

AMS/MS Manifolds

Divorced downpipes and decats

Much stronger Clutch

Also take a look at Mac_1's spec, out club chairman, and probably the highest HP Z in the UK with "currently" around 600 at the rear wheels (700'ish at the flywheel)...but he has more to come.

http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/vbpicgallery.php?do=view&g=32

I think Mac's planned next step it so see around 700 at the wheels (800'ish fly) without NOS.
