Not fitted it yet as I am collecting it on Wednesday. Never thought the 'Race' wheel I had really complimented the car and felt that something a little more old-skool and a little more luxurious would fit the interior a bit better too.

I always felt that my Race was slightly too small, being only 320mm. It was fun in some situations, but was just too small for me.

I have found a Momo Daytona and will be collecting it later this week. :)

Very nice wheel matey, but its looks better in the Lotus, more suited to that car. Only my opinion buddy. But will give you a better view of the gauges. Get some piccies up when fitted.

Al.

it looks quite similar to a Nardi Classic style wheel, which I am fond of.. But I thought you were a purist Si?.. why the change?

Its prob not a wheel I would choose myself, as its a little dated for my taste, but its not bad looking, subtle and somewhat similar to the stock wheel. It is nicer and more in-keeping with the Z than a lot of the aftermarket wheels with chromed bits all over them.

Was your old wheel really 320mm ? It didn't feel as small as that to me, and I didn't think Momo did them that small.

I dont mind the stock wheel, visually.......but if you've driven a Z with a smaller aftermarket wheel, and then you get back into a Z with a stock wheel if feels like your driving a bus !

not for me thanks.

I like the design of the stock wheel, I think it fits in with the interior better than most after market types, but it is a bit big, especially when trying to do any fast maneuvers. Will be interested to see what Si's new wheel looks like in place.

Purist? Mine has a Momo Race in it already. I wanted something that looked more like the original, but slightly more chunky. :)

Yeah, I have just seen that in your profile pics.. I believe the new steering wheel will be a nicer addition :) - Maybe you're just a purist when it comes to the exterior of the car, as your interior looks tastefully modified :) - By the way did you ever get those Chrome Speedo Rings fitted?

I haven't completely decided anyway. Will see how it looks as I do like the Race, just want something a little more comfortable and OEM looking.

Speedo rings? Yeah I did. :)

Not bad Si - I quite like that and look forward to seeing it in your car.......

.........however I actually like the standard ZX wheel too.

If it's in very good condition, stock is best IMO. However many people have aftermarket steering wheels; but most don't quite suit the ZX. Plus I happen to think that all aftermarket wheel bosses spoil the smooth look somehow. Your new one will, I reckon, look better than (say) the Millenium; plus most others.

Richard:)

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Totally agree Richard on every point. I think the stock wheel looks a little nondescript. if it was a little more beefy, it would look good, which is why I think the Daytona will look a little nicer. We'll see. It's something I've wanted to try for a while now.

Prefer the old one myself mate. Looks the nutz. The new one just does'nt do it for me i'm afraid :(
