Found i have a little time in the latter end of the evening these days (none any other time lol) and instead of sitting on my bum watching TV and surfing the internet i am making a start on the many things i have piled up relating to my zed.

Tonight i started prepping my vented bonnet and matching headlight panel. Wash, rub down, bit of filler and then smoothing off etc...

I've also got a pair of side skirts making their way to me with some door fillers. This to will need prepping and spraying etc.......

Got a pair of 99 spec headlight inserts which need painting one way or another (still undecided which route to take with them). Then they will need putting in my spare pair of headlights.

Got a spare set of rear lights which i plan on 99ing. Gonna do a proper job like Sussex stu, he has really done a top notch job and inspired me to replace my cracked sh1tty ones with some perfect ones. Gonna do the 300ZX logo in red indiglo also.

I also have to take my front bumper off for a proper painting this time. When i fitted it i had to do a quick job to get it on the car, but i now want to rub it all down and get it perfect.

And lastly (that i can think of lol) i have the boot build i bought of 8ace to prep and fit. Gotta cover it, get everything wired up and then fit it all in and get it looking sweet.

So who else is working on their zed - what you doing to it??? :)

Isaac

Look.....mister.......just because you ken the engine inside out and back to front, doesnt mean you have a clue about styling! :headvswal

Ok Ok.....i agree. I hate the whole kit and it's getting ripped off when she gets home! Got me a 99-spec front end, in transit to me as we speak......courtesy of Yassa! :hyper::hyper::hyper:

 aww go on!! let me trash it.I want to put a rope around it,tie it to a tree and drive backwards.

Tel you what. I'll drive my car home and send the bumper back down to you. You can attach it to your zed and do whatever the f**k you want with it. Deal???? :nelson:

me, myself and i, have over the past few 3 weeks, stripped the dash, fixed the peel, refurbed the fan blower, air con unit, replaced matrix with primera one as a preventative measure, fitted replacement clutch booster, pedals were looking a bit rusty so sorted that too. Then i`ve replaced plenum with a shiny one, water bypass, egr removed aiv gone, new matrix pipes, all treated for light corrosion. Fitted new rocker gaskets, painted covers etc.fixed garage shortcuts..naughty naughty! Even replaced det sensor loom, had to make a tool up so i could get to the bloomin plug! Replaced fuel lines with amoured ones..even the ones below the battery. Tonight, finished fitting a new efi loom engine side, cleaned all the connections so they are devoid of the green stuff...thank u wonderwheels.Tomoz dash etc replacment then hope it starts!

Nothing recently. Progress is stagnant.

In fact I've just about had enough of it all and its getting me down so much I'm considering jacking it all in.

Most of my car is as I want it. Few little odds and sods to do. Have some new HICAS arms for the back. Just a new chip and a boost upgrade left really. Shock horror, I might actually eliminate the HICAS.

If there's a Veilside bumper smashing session going to take place then I am there to film the event for youtube!

Just as long as it aint before Saturday, i aint fussed! lol.

As for me, going to be fitting the following over the next couple of weeks....

UK spec rear ARB, new front & rear drop links all with E.S.bushings.

New front rack bushes - again E.S.

New OEM oil pressure sender.

New revised PTU

Nothing recently. Progress is stagnant.

your so close, dont be stupid....

Its not due back just in time for the 5th of september dyno day by any chance

Where is this dyno day going to be? I can't find any info on it...

This weekend gonna strip the rear seats out, trial fit some spacers and providing its nice weather may even give her a concourse winning clean:D

I'm going to do a tempoary paint job on the new nose panel and front bumper as I can't justify the full paint job until all the running issues are done. Fit a new thermostst to see if it stops running so hot. Disable the EBC as it is faulty and see how the single tub boosts with the external wastgate in charge!

Hmmm where to begin!

ENGINE:

Plenum off, Plenum polish in process... done EGR delete, CC Delete, AIV Delete, Water bypass, PCV Re-Route, paint and chrome everything, Unorthodox Pulley/belts, all new gaskets and rubbers + water and vacuum lines, viscous Fan delete, air-con delete, PRVR Delete, HICAS delete, fitted new O2 Sensors, new bigger rad, 16" electric fan, thermostat and custom chrome cowl, chrome water rad pipes. New FMIC, separate Tranny and Oil Rads where the SMIC's used to be. Boost controller, JD chip, 300Degree Fuel rail possibly with 555's, don't know yet.

BODY:

On top of which I am adding custom wide front fenders/wings, driftworks everywhere, custom engine bay skin, a wider (already have a wide arse kit) than wide rear body to accommodate 13" rear wheels (10" fronts). Custom front to accommodate the new air flow requirements. Custom lights and centre panel, custom rear bumper, and lights, custom vented hood. Custom wider sills. I don't think it will be recognisable as a zed - and for that I apologise to Funky-Si and everyone else - but I am trying to produce something tasteful, different and unique (like me) lol. Only time will tell if I succeed I guess. But if I am not satisfied that it looks (exotic) OEM - it all goes in the bin and I do something else. ;-( About 1 year to go I hope.

I've just dropped mine in at Z-World to have the cambelt done; a new a/c condensor and re-gas; oil & filter change and new plugs if needed.....

Otherwise nothing - it's just fine! Although I reckon it will be a tad better once Jeff has "worked his magic" on it......;)

Richard:cool:

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:
