all the black textured platic coating type stuff has worn away to shiney ali and looks a bit daft to be honest. Is this stuff available as a spray or is it best just to have them resprayed when I get my boot done

what primer is good for stickin to ali? is that etching stuff about as good as it gets?

Yeah, plastidip is what you want mate, get a tin of the primer as well and finish with a couple of coats of satin lacquer. They'll look like new again.

I just used satin black paint - its quick, easy and cheap. I should imagine plastidip is far longer lasting and looks better, depends what you want and how long you are prepared to spend sorting it.

hmm sounds quite interesting this plastidip. id rather use something like that than disturb things and replace with new trim. those of you who have used it on your Z - do you have any close-up pictures of what it sets like?

awsome cheers will get some of that plastic stuff looks the balls

stu did you brush the primer on or spray it on via a compressor/gun

You can do either mate. I used a brush, it's pretty thin and doesn't leave brush marks when it dries.

cool that's what I was wondering about brush marks cheers :)

Use a fine bristle brush, the softer the better, as you apply it, it forms its own level and smooths out.. Mine have been on for a fair while now, despite all the weather and the odd bit of car polish (it just wipes off) still same colour as day i put it on.
