Alrighty then.... got my Z back today after having my STS turbo set-up fitted :hyper:

For those that aint sure what that is their websites here:

http://www.ststurbo.com/sema_2004

We ended up going for a single turbo setup running at 0.7 boost and the results were very impressive

I have a dyno sheet here but as i aint able to scan it right now you'l have to take my word for the figures.

Before anything was done my NA was dyno'd and peaked at 192.7bhp

The dyno result after the STS conversion came out at a peak of 348.9bhp :D

Theres still a couple of things to be tweeked here and there such as an AFC to have more control over the fueling....

but once these bits are done we're hoping to see 370+bhp

Drives like a dream and im well chuffed :D

Heres a couple of dodgy quick pics to show ya..... but Darren has taken more pics of the process stage by stage...

once i get a copy of these i'l post some up if anyones interested

Also had a tailgate skin fitted and blended and my rear wiper removed and smoothed.....

looks loads better imo... just gota finish smoothing my rockguard and get my new wheels on then im all set for JAE :nana2:

Would just like to say a HHUUUUGGGEEEEE thank you to Darren and the guys at D2 for doing such a great job and being such professionals.... top guys

watched this all come together at d2 and was a truly amazing build. well done to you and d2 :D

wow thats different

So when does it spool up?

what was done to the engine ie compression and flow?

can we have more pics please :D maybe of the pipework

very impressive this.

are you saying the tub is at the rear of the car:shock:...be very intrested to see more pics of this:cool:

btw it looks like a nut or bolt is missing or sheared off on the zorst side of the tub

from seing it at d2 the pipework is a work of art, darren spent ages making it look and work perfectly. he even painted all the pipework  ground down all the welds and made it smooth  (the turbo sits inside the rear bumper :D

sooo many advantages of having a turbo fitted like this. No excess heat in engine bay, easy removal and replacemant.

did you have to plum in another oil pump and reservoir? is it water cooled? not very clear in the pics. i have so many questions.

have a chat with darren when your at d2 jimmy. thinking about putting your new tubs at the back are we

u never know :D

i wonder what it sounds like, must sound awesome.

ive only heard it running when on the ramp (not under load) but then it sounded absoloutly aewsome.

thanks for the comments guys.... there is a seperate oil pump feeeding the turbo which has an alarm in the boot if the pump fails...

as for spooling.... this is one of the issues....

its currently spooling at around 4500revs...... we are gona be reducing the size to allow it to spool earlier then re-dyno and see how it goes....

the power is very even and as yassa has said the fit of the pipework is phenominal

i will get all the pics off Darren and i'l post them up showing all the pipework/how its run etc

edit: no engine mods..... standard NA engine with low boost turbo strapped to it :)

you have no idea :D

just thinking of something, what if someone ran another massive turbo in this fashion on their already twin turbo setup? first triple turbos system? :D would it work?

yep it should work as the turbo just connects to the MAF pipework so technically you could have a tripple or quad turbo zed.

isnt that bit laggy ?? how come uve got single turbo but twin exhaust ..it looks good i must admit ..

thought u were dead?

lag is minimal..... as for the exaust.... i hate single exits so the passenger side is piped into the BOVs

Are you spooling from just one side of the engine? Or are you running both sides of the exhaust into one pipe and then to the turbo? Cant tell from the photo , but that would make it damn laggy would it not. Cant wait to see the better photos.

Not the financial wise i mean they all believed it to be shi*e and that it wouldnt work! Here is another clear case showing that it has worked! There is more to Tuning and modifying than Chroming bits up and shopping at Z1

> no engine mods..... standard NA engine with low boost turbo strapped to it

I recommend you'd upgrade at least the injectors (you can use twinturbo injectors).

The NA injectors can only deliver enough fuel for up to 270-ish fwhp

Apart from that the NA engine can take boost very well with the right modifications (good intercooling, enough fuel and good tuning/chip)

Great work  didnt even know the conversion was possible!
