She very nicely decided to chuck a truck tyre at the front of my car at 70mph on the M1 ripping my bumper off and cracking my wing. She then proceeded to drive off at an advanced rate. Needless to say i'll be ringing the police tomorrow :slap:

 

Bloody hellfire! glad you managed to keep the zed the right way up.

The fact i had my targas off and saw the truck tyre whizz past my head within a foot was the scariest part!

Yep, she looked up, saw it'd hit mine then put her foot down before i could take down her number plate. I had my hazards on as soon as it happened so she couldn't have missed it

i dont quite understand whats happened?

I was driving behind a woman in a punto that kept slowing down and speeding up. She hit a lorry tyre in the middle of the motorway, it flew up from her wheel straight into my front end, smashed up the side of the car over the top of my roof and behind my car.

 

I slammed on the hazards, she looked up, saw what she'd done and accelerated hard without stopping to see if i was alright?

Sorry Nick, It sucks but I dont really see how she is to blame. It was'nt like it came of her car.

but she did see it happen and didn't stop to see if i was alright which is what i'm pissed off about.

 

If she'd stopped when she saw me pull over i would have probably said don't worry about it but she looked at me in the rear view mirror and booted it

I wouldn't have expected a woman to stop and get out of her car that late at night. Too many weirdos out there to do so safely (yourself excluded of course).

Agreed! As far as I know it is. At the end of the day, due to her lack of attention to the raod she has caursed an accident, whether it is deliberate or road debris, it is everyones responsibility to drive to within their own ability and watch the road ahead. If she was watching the road ahead she would of seen it in the lane, whether is was still daylight or dark........ ie; Driving to the conditions!

The lady should have stoped to inspect damage to your car and her own the police informed and the motorway cleared of debris

they will do nothing. i was rammed off the road but a white van man almost writing off my carlton gsi and he saw what he did and drove off. the police did fook all they saw i was young with a fast car so it must some how be my fault, i got so angry with the police i felt like hitting the guy. gutted for you nick

Cheers for your support guys, its going to be a waste of time trying to get the police involved. So pissed off though, the other day someone did a hit and run on the scorpio as well and now that's down to the primer on the drivers side.

 

Nearly a grands worth of damage by two people who weren't paying attention then just drove off :rant: :(

I know how you feel mate, A couple of years ago I was driving my drop top 330 and some tw@ts on a bridge threw half a brick....It hit the windscreen pillar. Luckily didn't have the kids in. the roof was down as well.

 

called the law and they basically said they will never find them, so didn't bother looking :rant:

And yet they'll quite happily pull you over and charge you for doing 5-6mph over the speed limit. Really annoys me sometimes.

 

Ah well the V8 will have to wait even longer now until i've patched this one up :(

Perfectly legal to leave the scene of an accident but then they have to report the accident to a Police station within 24 hours.

 

Afraid all she has to say it she didn't see the tyre so wasn't aware that it had bounce up and it's her word against yours, not sure what the Police can do :( It's crap and she should be ashamed of gerself dor driving off but the main thing is you're alright ;)

 

I once had a pallet come off a waste truck and hit the front of my Z on the M1, then the next day the company totally denied they were there and knew nothing about it. Luckily I chased the driver down at the time and got his details which he had written on the company headed paper. It just annoyed me that they would try and get out of it!

I've had a tyre bounce of the car in front of me, hit my car, bounce onto car behind, then into another..and so on...

 

was I at fault, should I feel ashamed ? no.

 

She hit road debris in the motorway, she is as much a victim as everyone else who would have hit it or been hit by it after the original Lorry lost it. There is nothing to get the police involved about, unless you know the Lorry it came off.

 

Its just one of those things :(

sorry to hear this mate - it could have been a LOT worse for you and the motor so im glad to see you both relatively unscathed. just think of it this way - there'll be some GOOD luck waiting for you round the corner - maybe the bitch in the blue punto driving into a lamppost cos she's still putting her lippie on ;)

From the pic it looks like a simple fix. will it not just bolt back up and tcut out :)

Unfortunately not, the mounting points have broken through so need to be remoulded and there's fractures all over the front and inbetween the vents. It flexes when it's pushed but it's all bonded into the sideskirts so can't take the wing off.
