Missus is moaning we aint had a weekend really together out and about for ages due to work, but this sunday got a day off together and the weather looking good might go somewhere, anyone got any good ideas? thinking thorpe park but long way to go.

Take the Z, drive down to Portsmouth, take the overnight ferry to St Malo and take a nice spirited drive through the Normandy countryside and then take the ferry back to Portsmouth from Cherbourg or Caen. That's my type of weekend getaway. :)

Why? The night ferry leaves Portsmouth at 8pm. So you wouldn't really loose much of the Saturday. Gets you in to St.Malo at about 8am. Lovely French town too.

what about alton towers, thats not far from wolves i dont think, also my folks went to chester zoo on monday and said it was brilliant, best day out they have had for ages

alton towers is good but far to busy on a weekend spend most of your day standing in line. si's idea sounds a good one though. might be a plan for my summer holidays as we arent going anywhere with us having the wedding next year. or does that mean i would be going somewhere if i did that? oh i dont know sounds good anyway lol :)
