Another vid of the 500zx, bit of a compilation. Prob be the last one until I get to the dyno as it's still only locked to about 60% throttle and 7k rpm at the minute.

Shame the video camera doesn't really capture the sound properly though, on the drive by, it sounds immense when you're actually there! Proper spine tingling!

John, that sounds brilliant, bit better than the Chevy really, when it's on full chat. Very nice.

I'd better go now else I'll be wanting another one!

What a great sounding Z, just a word of warning, your number plate may attract the police I got warned for having mine like that.

that is just fabulous... absolutly sounds amazing, i really wish nissan had just stuck that in from the begining, then mine would have sounded like that and i'd never have sold it :( lol

(Been feeling the 300zx pang today, been looking at autotrader lol)

Rear lights aside, that is an amazing bit of kit you've built there John. Sounds absolutely fantastic especially on run-down! Great rims also! :)

John's spot on: the video really doesn't do the sound of the engine justice...it's truly insane. When I was videoing John on that long run that starts at 2:24 you could hear the engine well after the car had disappeared out of sight!

We spent about an hour and a half out and the entire time I had a big grin plastered all over my face...the car really is something else. It's the reponsiveness that really got me...an on/off throttle response that simply blows you away it's so immediate...flex your foot and you're pushed back into your seat! And I'm speaking from experience as I got a shot in it up and down that long stretch of road mentioned before. Fast doesn't begin to describe it. And that's without mapping and the rev limiter set to 7500...Christ knows what it'll be like after it's run-in, with the mapping done and the limiter off so she can hit 9 grand...A truly stunning car.

What you mean you don't hate the bonnet vent too

Cheers all for the comments. I MUST get that brake squeal sorted too!

That is one of the greatest sounds I have ever heard!!!!!!!!! Absolutely awesome!:bow:

fookin WOW with a capital WOW, how much would that cost me then, fookin ell, you have started something now lol

You can't even afford to rent a garage Allan! :wack:

I'd hazard a guess in thinking that John probably spent somewhere in between £10k - £20k on that engine build!

Cheers, as for how much, believe me, you don't want to know

You could do it cheaper but as Si said, my engine cost ££££ as it's pretty much full on race bottom end with sightly more road friendly cams.

Obviously the rear lights were the best £300 spent though ...
