Hi, any advice please, I have looked at my air filter and found it to be called an Apexi. It is conical in shape. I want to replace it with a fresh one, however I believe I can actually clean it. Any advice on this please. Like if I can clean it how?

Thanks everyone.

if it´s anything like a K&N cone filter you can get a special cleaning kit including oil to spay on afterwards as the K&N doesn´t filter correctly without the oil. But I´m sure some apexi "expert" will be around soon .

WELL... if its an apexi 'power intake' :-

then they are a dry filter, and not to be oiled like a K&N. The oil will go through it and into your MAF, and give your car running problems. Hope that helps, however I'm not sure of the best way to clean the filter, probably with a compressor and a small air sprayer.

DO NOT use lubricant on the Apexi filter. They aren't designed to be cleaned. You can use compressed air though to blow black crap through the pleates.

Thanks mate, I will give it a blast and see if that works if not I will get another one.

sorry to butt in but ive found its better to blow fron the inside out and that way your not forcing particals into the weave..plus you need at least 50-60 psi;)

I cleaned my Blitz and old HKS with the K&N stuff from Halfrauds.

Does the job mate.

If you pop over to mine to look at the lights i will give it a clean for you.

Stu

running water is the best way to cleen them, from inside out.

then left in the airing cupboard over night to dry.

i actually brought two so when one was drying i could use the other but, in the end put both of them on instead lol

Ello Stu.PM me your number I will call and pop over when we can arrange it.

Sonic and stu, don't use the K&N oil them it will clog it up, they have a limited lifespan of 30,000 miles so it may be time to think about getting another?
