Hi guy's

Just to let you all know I have just started useing a new paint system from the States. It means I can now apply a full chrome finish to any surface, even plastic. So I was thinking what I could use it on first. After seeing some of the attempt on chroming the front lights I thought I would have a go.

As it happened I had a spare pair of lights, so this is how it went.

After opening up the lights and stripping out the insert. A light rub over and then the base coat was layed on.

Then the chrome efect

A couple of layers of lacker and a polish and...

Its a little hard to see the reflection through the glass but I think you can get the idea.

I left the ring around the lams as a bit of contrast and I quite like it. What do you think..

Are those of you with the 99spec replica inserts having them done like the real thing, with the 2 different shades of chrome ?

as far as I understand the outer is done in a a kind of dark grey/black chrome while the indents for the lights are done in regular chrome ?

id love to have inserts chromed the same way. dark chrome on the outside, indents done in regular chrome

I have some nice chrome bits going on the V8 but you'll have to wait till i get them back (i've got to get the buggers off first lol)

Ok guyes there has been some interset in what parts I can chrome (efect).

The answer is anything. I will try and put togeather some sort of price list on the sort of parts that have been requested. The prices will be for Club Members Only...

The System I am useing is Spectra Chrome and it comes from the USofA.

If you want to take a look at it in action go to http://www.sprayonchrome.com

As I believe it it is the first system like it in the UK.

Yes I have seen this before but its not the same system. They are useing Chrome FX. I did try to contact them once or twice but had no repply. Also the pictures they use on the site are taken from the American Site from the makers of Chrome FX. Not that it doesnt work because I have seen both systems in use and they both give a similar finish.

Would this chrome paint improve the output of the lights, I put brighter bulbs in mine and I still have to shine a torch in them to see if they are on.

They do look nice, got a rough price?

No, but cleaning the inside of the glass & lens does.

Really you need HID's though.

BTW, Chris only paints them chrome, CarMad makes the inserts.

Chris - where are you???

Inserts are ready for you mate! ;)

Chris - your subscription has expired mate, you should of recieved notification via email.

I have had to close this thread for the time being until you have re-sub'd.

Once you're subscribed again lemme know and i will open this up again.

Thanks.
