I realise they are expensive but I think they look soooooooo cool !!!

As a 'Nissan' part are they a straight swap for the 300ZX using the same brakets that one might use for a Skyline setup for example ?

not really, the calipers of the 370z sport edition (the ones in the ebay add) are only 550USD / 400EUR /370 GBP a pair...brandnew !

for comparison : the 350Z Brembo calipers are 2500 USD a pair.

the 370Z sport brake setup will probably be the next "budget" big brake kit for the Zed (and many other cars), as soon as plug and play kits/brackets and matching discs are available.

Cracking answer Eric.

370Z brakes are Nissan branded. Not just that, they are a propper caliper colour too! Silver/gunmetal!!

Then look like modern versions of the Z32 brakes. Very nice.

Hi Eric

I see what you mean about the price - if you factor in the excchange rate etc it starts to seem like a lot of kit for the money - 4 calipers, 4 rotors, 4 x brake lines etc.

So do the rotors in their kit not fit out hubs ? I imagined that if they are a bolt on for the 350Z they would fit the 300Z too ? (I think the stud patterns for the wheels are all the same - so the mounting criteria too?) I appreciate that one would need to have mounting brackets for the calipers made up but I have read other threads on here where people mention such engineering being very possible......

ps just looking at the size of the calipers - they are HUGE !!!

conceptz already have a complete kit with brackets for the 350Z, that should fit a Z32 as well with some small modifications:

NB: these are the exact same calipers as the infiniti ones.

Just had a reply from CZP to the effect that they hope to be able to offer the Akebono kit for 300's in about a month !!!

I dont know in terms of performance but they are HUGE !! There's a pic on the eBay link that shows them side by side. The rear caliper is larger than the Brembo gold front cailper !!

They do appear bigger, and they must be better, a tad annoying there are not statistics to support this?

Given there basically relabeled 370Z brakes, i suppose any review on the 370Z would give an idea on what they are like

  • 3 weeks later...

Small update, I have recieved the 370Z brakes (with brackets for the 350Z)

The calipers are almost twice the size of the stock calipers and discs are 355 mm

To be able to fit the caliper brackets I had to grind a small bit out of the protusion on top of the hub (which is not a structual part of the hub, so it won't weaken anything) and cut a piece out of the bottom part of the dustshield.

After that all fits fine.

Only problem now is that my 18" ultralite wheels are too small and don't clear the calipers :(

To be able to fit these brakes you will need wheels that have an inner diameter of at least 445 mm (17.4 ")

to be continued...

  • 1 month later...

I attracted to a lot these brake akebono.

sent photos me from czp
