You could go down 2 routes:

Cosmetics : 99-spec rear lights and front bumper, clear side repeaters and the black strip on the spoiler which is currently red.

Mech: Full suspension kit (springs, shocks, adjustable camber arms etc)

Those are the two choices I'd give myself. I'd probably go for the first one first unless your suspension does need replacing.

well i have unknown aftermarket front suspension and stock rear suspension. the car does sit too high. i would like to be able to get the 99 spec rear lights and the suspension done.

There was a second hand 99-spec front bumper in the for-sale section. 99s update the back no-end and is still one of my favourite mods. Nice, clean, clear and crisp.

yea it was for 250 and to be honest i dont think i will be able to get it after getting suspension etc... what suspension setup do you recommend bearing in mind my budget and the fact i want to lower my car quite alot ( i like how low j1mmytt's car sits) and i would like decent handling

Ebach springs and kyb-agx suspension all round, adjustable camber arms and 99 spec rear lights, job done for about a grand if you fit yourself.

Jimmys is on coilovers. You can sometimes hunt these down for not a huge amount of money. They do crop up on here from time to time. If you're going lowered than Eibach springs, then it's a very good idea to get adjustable camber/tension rods if you want the stance to look good as well as wheels with a flattering offset.

going as low as mine and jimmy's will put strain on everything else, i managed to get my tein monoflex from ebay for £400 delivered, piece of piss to fit

Got both of those available. :D

KYB and Eibach Second hand 350 then 150 to fit

Put the rest in the bank and decide what to do while the cars having the new sus fitted.

if you do get some new shocks/springs yassa... just bring it round here.. il fit em for ya.

imo the eibachs are the most comfortable aftermarket springs available, when i had them fitted to mine it was a very similar feel to drive than stock but a massive improvement in the handling... but this comes at a cost... the ride height (-0.8") is not low enough for my liking. also, the ride height is not balanced... i think the front always needs dropping more than the rear to get equal arch clearance all round (most other aftermarket springs available are setup this way) the handling on the eibachs didnt feel as sharp as it does on my avo chassis dynamics.

dont forget also, if your fitting brand new shocks and springs the ride height will more than likely be quite a bit different to some1 whos fitted the same springs to tired old shocks or fitted second hand (sagged) springs...

for road use i wouldnt want my setup any stiffer than it is now... i cant judge as iv never been in one but i imagine all the peeps with coilovers have extremely harsh rides...

my 10 pence (inflation)

Why would you pay £350 for used when new they are £450?

Would never buy second hand when it comes to things keeping my car fixed to the road! Tyres/suspension

More like 600 these days unfortunately

£150 for a re trim? A DIY PVC one I'd guess! Mmmmm, poly final chloride.

Si, good to see your maths is as sharp as your comical genius... Let's do this together shall we?!?

£1000-£450= £550

£550-£200=£350

so £350 for the interior pannels...as Joel has offered to fit them for free... £350 for a member to get a retrim is a good price, zcentre sell them for around that....
