Just asked for an update from Thor. going to give me a call back with more details but.. they did say my new wheels are on and they stick out the rear arches allot.

Ive not seen it so not sure how bad it is, changing the wheels isnt really a option as they were very expensive and took 6 months to arrive as it is.

Sticking out the arches will look silly and possibly illegal.

So what are my options?

I know Do-Luck make stick on arch extensions but who else make them and different options availible. i cant spent too much money on this e.g. full wide arse kit at the mo as there are far more important things to spent it on.

not sure i even like them.

That info would have to have been supplied to the supplier when you ordered them mate ? otherwise you end up with wheels that don't fit.

Can you remember what you asked for when you bought them ? the offset though is often stamped on the inside back rim and the width should be on there as well.

What size tyres did you buy ?

smithy

Hi Paul,

Well.. what happened is, i purchased the wheels from the UK supplyer 9's on the front and 10's on the back. I then got a phone call later direct from the manufacture asking what offset i wanted.

The tyres are a 295 on the rear, not sure of the profile.

Just going through my emails it looks like originally the offset was a 35 but i changed it to a 22 as i remember what happened now, i bought them to go on a wide arch kit so went for the 22 offset.

What is the width and offset of your new wheels ? That will tell us how far it sticks out

found it..

The rear wheels are 10" which i knew but realised that i went for a 22 offset.

The offset means nothing to me. I have no idea how much that is or how it is looking with the wheels fitted.

Will be cheaper to go back and ask for an exchange, but have got to admit liking plastic arches with pot rivets :), I will now go and sit on the naughty step!

Thats not really a option, the wheels were made to order and very expensive.

Flaring them sounds a good option though.

If they were made to order sometimes they leave excess metal on the rear to get the required offset, see if they can machine them down?

cool, ok will give that a look.

Although wide rear is something i would like to do in the future so perhaps for now just flare the arches and go with a wide arse when i can afford to get it done.

indeed... you may well be able to get an engineering shop to shave about 10mm off. thats what i reckon youll need as a maximun offset with 10's.. maybe more like 35. contact the people you bought them off or the manufacturer for advice.

what wheels are they btw?

I think for now i will just flare the arches for now and not change the offset on the wheels as in the future i will prob get a wide arse kit anyway.

The wheels are Blitz Type 03

ignore the blue bit that is just a rim protector in transit.

Just curious how much a 22 offset would be sticking out my arches, anyone know?

Yours are sticking out 19mm further than the typical offset reccomended without having to modifiy arches.

With a 9.5" wheel the considered optimum offset without having to modifiy arches is +35. You have gone wider and with an offset that sticks them out further too.

Without modifying arches a +38 offset would probably be the absolute max on 10" wheel, with a +40 being a safer choice.

yikes.... but i bet it looks sweet from the rear :D

Well 19mm isnt too bad, hopefully getting the arches flared with cover that up nicely.

At least I am getting a wider wheel track out of it, not sure how much difference it will make at handling and dragging off the line but any help is always good.

19mm is just to the wheel edge I think?

Your tyres might hang over the edge by another 5 to 10mm each side :D

That car gives me a tingly feeling in my gentlemens area.

Anybody got any more info in it, mainly width & offset of the wheels.

Also is that a standard 99 spec front bumper.

Stu

my wheels stick out abit aswell ive never had any problem with the tyre rubbing at all im not far from thetford eaither :)

That is a standard 99 spec, would like to know what rear spoiler that is though?

Looks like they may have modded the front wings, they seem to be spaced out more than usual?

Godam those wheels are awsomeness at it's most awsome:cool::cool: these are now the best wheels I have seen so far how much they cost?

I think that the pictures have been slightly stretched horzontally

Those wheels are available in z32 fitments!

They're Volk racing TE37 or you could use Rota grid drift's.

I think this is the same car as the sexy on in FunkySi's post. I just want to make it clear at this point that I am in no way stalking this car (yet).

The guy says that the wheels in these pics are Volk racing CE28s

18x10.5 ET +18 with 285/30 tyres all round.

I need that kind of wheel fitment in my life.

Still can't find out what that spoiler is though.

your right what your saying in that the rota grid drifts are te37 replicas... but the bronze/gold wheels are nismo lmgt4... rota also makes replicas of those puppies... rota gtr. stellaz has them fitted to his wide ass. tasty looking wheel, though iv never really liked the flat design of the front 8.5" wheel. it needs to have the 9.5 design fitted to the front.

those pics with the ce28's are absolutely stunning... looks better than the nismo's imo... i really do love zeds on 'drift style' wheels (if you know what i mean) on the deck with an aggressive offset. not sure id want mine that low as i bet its a complete tw@ to drive!
